❓ A couple of weeks ago, I received the following question: Can you truly be an effective DE&I manager without a migration background? While I understand the sentiment behind the question, the question actually also feed the idea that opportunities seem determined by identity. 💌 My answer: despite not sharing a specific background, I do have my own identity and I hope to bring essential skills to the table: curiosity, openness, empathy, and most importantly a diverse network from who I learn a lot. 😎 DE&I is an attitude but DE&I work isn't easy. It's a mix of opportunities and challenges, highs and lows. Some may call it utopian, given the entrenched stereotypes, prejudices, and systemic barriers. Yet, I love my job! 💏 Step by step, we're breaking down barriers and fostering inclusion & belonging. So let's keep pushing forward, challenging perceptions, and building a world where everyone's voice matters. #inclusion #diversity #belonging
Aurélie Ceuppens, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager at bpostgroup, shares her thoughts on what #DEI means in our vibrant group mosaic: "With a team of 35,000 employees, representing over 100 nationalities, we mirror the diversity of our company. By embracing diverse perspectives and experiences, we recognize that the journey to inclusion comes with opportunities and challenges." That's where Aurélie and her team come in: "In an inclusive culture, everyone must feel respected and empowered to unleash their full potential. We foster this culture through toolkits to facilitate team dialogue around respect, internal network facilitation, tailored training, and continuous review of our HR processes." At bpostgroup, authenticity is celebrated, and talents are nurtured, irrespective of background or abilities! #wearebpostgroup #EUdiversitymonth
