5 things you need to have in your SOP 1. Personal Background. Make sure you talk about the place you come from, your hobbies, and how it’s connected to your future goals. This should be like an overview of what’s written in your SOP. 2. Academic & financial background In this section, discuss your educational qualifications and what motivated you to choose it. Tell the visa officer that you have the financial ability to afford your education abroad. 3. Professional experience Talk about your previous work experience and how it’s related to what you wish to pursue. Make this a brief explanation of what motivated you to choose that profession. 4. Why you have chosen the university/course This is the most important part. Here, you need to talk about your intention behind joining the course/university. It should show your interest and curiosity to learn and grow. 5. Strong ties to your home country. Many students fail to convince the visa officer about their plans to return to their home country after the completion of their course. Hence make sure that you demonstrate strong ties to your home country stating family, property, or assets. This will make sure that they are convinced about your return.
