Checked all the boxes but wanted more. | Life Coach | Helping smart women build strong habits: Eating, Moving, and Thinking. | Speaker | Host, Strong is a Mindset Podcast
Here’s another tip to help you get healthier this year: Start meal prepping (you can get your kids involved, too). Before you groan at the idea of spending all day Sunday in your kitchen in an assembly line only to walk away with seven Tupperware containers filled with a carbon copy meal of chicken breast, brown rice, and broccoli - think again. Meal prep is a key habit that will upgrade your life, upgrade your diet, and upgrade your overall health. For real. On this week’s SAAWM podcast, I’m breaking down meal prep and making it as easy as possible for you. Because I know you’re busy and you don’t have time for it. Instead, I’m going to help you MAKE time for it. Of all the things that help my clients eat healthier at home and lose weight, this is the one that comes up most often. Meal prep most definitely takes time and energy. Let me make it worth your while. If you’ve tried and failed at meal prep in the past, try a different approach. Listen and walk away with 9 actionable ideas to make meal prep doable, even if you have NO time to do it. Because meal prep is not an all-or-nothing affair. Try any one of the ideas in the podcast and you will save time, money, and energy. Tupperware is optional. Check out the episode.

Let's talk about whether or not you should watch Fat Friends. With the focus of the Netflix show being based around people who met at and regularly visit a diet club, it is understandable that you might be wary of watching if you're trying to escape dieting yourself. In this week's podcast episode I'm going to explain how I see Fat Friends through my very own eyes - the funny and satirical, the sympathetic approach to its characters, and how we can relate to the depiction of different foods chosen when on a diet, loss of control around food, and how dieting affects family members' relationship with food. The show highlights fat shaming in and out of diet clubs, laughs at all the clichéd sayings related to diets, addresses relationships with people when you're in a bigger body, and more. It's sympathetic and designed to make you laugh out loud at dieting. It's funny, it's sad, it's heart warming, and it's light-hearted. Let me give you a whistlestop tour, and then you can make your own decision on whether to watch it yourself. I finally finished Atomic Habits and it was a great read that discussed how habits are useful in becoming the person you've always wanted to be! Check out my review of "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, where I break down the art of building good habits and ditching the bad ones. From gym goals to healthy eating hacks, Clear's got it all figured out with his 4 laws of atomic habits: 1️⃣ Make it obvious: Surround yourself with your goal, literally! Like, put those apples where you used to stash your unhealthy snacks. 2️⃣ Make it attractive: Reward yourself, because you deserve it! Maybe an episode of your favorite series only after you've nailed that gym sesh? 3️⃣ Make it easy: Slow and steady wins the race! No need to go from zero to superhero overnight. 4️⃣ Make it satisfying: Associate joy with your habits! Turn that workout into a party with a killer playlist or your favorite podcast. The main thing to take here is that it's all about progress, not perfection. Dive into the full article on my blog for the details, and let me know your thoughts below!

Today in my back to basics series I’m talking about intuitive eating principle 9, movement - feel the difference. Exercise does not have to be gruelling. You don’t have to live by “no pain, no gain”. Exercise also does not have to be a way for you to earn your food, extra calories, points or syns. Exercise can be full of joy and fun. And, hear me out, exercise is not mandatory - you get to choose whether you exercise or not! I’m going to help you have a better relationship with exercise. Let’s start by simply calling it movement.
