The NHTSA is investigating 51,500 Volkswagen electric vehicles over door safety concerns The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA (NHTSA) is investigating about 51,500 Volkswagen electric vehicles (EVs) due to concerns about doors opening while driving. This probe focuses on Volkswagen's electric ID.4 SUVs produced between 2021 and 2023. Notably, the investigation follows 12 consumer complaints about doors intermittently opening while the vehicles were moving. Importantly, no injuries or fatalities have been reported due to this issue. Previously, Volkswagen recalled these vehicles to fix water seepage from the doors. Now, the #NHTSA wants to assess whether those previous fixes were effective.

Fisker's Ocean SUV faces a second NHTSA probe due to reports of unexpected rolling. Four complaints have led to investigations, including one injury. Issues arise when shifting into or out of park, with some vehicles slipping into neutral. This follows a prior probe into braking issues. Fisker recently launched an over-the-air update for their Ocean OS, aiming to mitigate these and other concerns. #ElectricVehicles #FiskerOcean #NHTSA #AutomotiveSafety #TechUpdate https://lnkd.in/eg9W9adG

Check this out! The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA has created an incredibly user friendly search engine for identifying vehicle safety data. In mere seconds, I was able to generate reports focused on complaints, recalls, investigations, and communications from manufacturers based on specific search criteria. Type in your unique VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) or the Year, Make, and Model to drill down to the information that you need the most. They've also built a catalogue of articles on best practices & statistics for winter weather driving, car seats, tires, and other equipment - I'm definitely bookmarking this one! #safetyculture #cx #resources #userexperience #marketresearch #safetyprofessionals
