Own a Ford Bronco Sport or Maverick pickup⚠? The recall affects just under 403,000 Ford Bronco Sports produced between Feb. 5, 2020, and March 13, 2024, according to a safety recall report from the NHTSA. About 53,590 Ford Mavericks produced between Feb. 3, 2021, and Oct. 28, 2022, are also impacted. “The body and power train control modules may fail to detect a change in the 12-volt battery state of charge,” according to the NHTSA. “An undetected low battery charge can result in a loss of electrical accessories such as hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.” If you have questions, you can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. The company’s internal number for the recall is 24S24. You can also contact the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 or visit its website. #nhtsa #ford #recall

Recalls seem all too common in the Auto Industry. Here's Why. Vehicle launches and timing are held very strictly to a schedule and this is what shareholders are looking at being on time because until vehicles start being sold, there isn't revenue on the massive investment of a new vehicle. So often instead of pausing, pushing the date, or stopping altogether, a launch, major companies will continue on and do Interim Corrective Actions (ICAs) and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) to continue with vehicle release without moving the launch dates. Vehicles that receive ICAs often need recall later to make the permanent part change or update the vehicle. These recalls are expensive, but when weighed against pushing a launch are often the most cost effective option. So how do you prevent more recalls? Utilize engineering teams like the team at Knights Engineering to double check part designs and help to add features in the design that allow for tuning. Many issues can be prevented through thorough design and testing to ensure launches go smoothly. Too late for a design review? We still have you covered. We have been on multiple vehicle launches in all different OEM plants and can help use that experience to make data driven decisions on what needs to change in the part or process without being biased. Our approach is to always do what is best for the product overall and having an outside view it helps to take away some of the emotions around a part someone worked so hard to design and develop. We're here for you, and the industry. Let's keep the Automotive industry growing and pushing boundaries together.
Unexpected battery loss might go undetected in these vehicles, which could lead to a car being unable to restart or stall when coming to a stop, NHTSA said.

64 years ago in the world of reliability (18 SEP 1960) General Motors introduced the Chevrolet Corvair. Five years later consumer advocate Ralph Nader called the car "unsafe at any speed." The Corvair may not have been as dangerous as Nader claimed. There were latent weaknesses - a swing axle suspension, no sway bar on the rear, and lower tire pressure requirements on the front tires and higher on the back tires when virtually all other cars had equal tire pressure all around. But NHTSA testing in 1971 found the Corvair handled as well as other similar cars - cars like the Volkswagen Beetle. That was the problem. The Corvair handled like a VW Beetle and was marketed to drivers as a Corvette for the middle-class. When people drove the Corvair like a Beetle - the car was safe. When people drove the Corvair like a Corvette, they were the ones who rolled-up axles or rolled-over or spun-out. No car is so safe that the car can be operated unsafely. No task on the job is so safe that it can be done unsafely. No activity in life is so safe that it can be done unsafely. That is why Reliability 4 Life teaches #lifeskills to all people for all life spaces. Safety and high reliability are too important to save for the workplace. Use safety in all life spaces - where you work, live, learn, and play. #safety #highreliability #hro #lifeskills #safetyleadership
