Have you heard about this treatment for Parkinson's Disease? This footage from Sherwood Forest Hospitals shows the remarkable difference that it has made for Damien Gath, a 52-year-old man from Derby who underwent the treatment in July. Produodopa, which was rolled out by NHS England just this year, is a combination of two drugs: foslevodopa and foscarbidopa. It is administered as a continuous infusion therapy via a portable pump. Prior to the treatment, Damien's condition had worsened and he had been taking four separate oral drugs, each six times a day, to control the involuntary movements which made everyday activities a challenge. Since starting the treatment, his quality of life has been transformed. “The massive difference is that there are now no fluctuations” he explained. “I am also sleeping much better and the duvet doesn’t feel like a ton weight on my legs – I can turn over when I want to.” Full story on the Sherwood Forest Hospitals website: https://lnkd.in/gfEZdz-B #parkinsonsdisease #disabilityawareness
