Fri COE 2.0 Post: 2 of 11
After numerous Fleet Engagements (including some in Hawaii this week… thanks to John Croce)… I’m confident of a couple things.
- Most folks in the Navy know what our core values are: Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
- Most folks in the Navy don’t know the actual, Navy-determined definitions of these words.
And so, can they really be organizational core values if we don’t have a shared understanding of what they mean?
COE 2.0 STARTS with Navy Core Values, what they actually are, as the foundation of what makes a great Navy person.
The back cover of the Playbook provides these definitions, with information on how to bring core values to life…
And as, if not more, important, what the OPPOSITE of of these core values is, and what it looks like when someone is FAKING it.
This allows Navy leaders at all levels to bring Navy Core Values to life in a new way… for coaching, mentoring and counseling.
Meet LCDR Liz Elrod and Master Chief Jason Knupp! These stellar leaders are champions for the Navy's Culture of Excellence 2.0 (COE 2.0), an actionable approach to building great culture at every Navy command.
👂Hear them speak to why focusing on building Great People, Leaders, and Teams is mission-critical for the fleet.
COE 2.0 is empowering Navy leaders by providing them with the simplified and aligned tools and programs they need to identify and address their Sailors' needs – fostering stronger, more connected warfighting teams.
