Advocate for the kind of city you believe you need. ✅️ Develop a vision for your building, street, and neighbourhood, and act on that vision. Are there enough jobs? Can your children walk to school safely? Can you walk with your family at night? How far is the nearest public transport? What’s the air quality like? What are your shared public spaces like? The better the conditions you create in your community, the greater the effect on quality of life. 🌎 🌏 🌍 Avinjo.org - Empowering NGOs avinjo #Avinjo #NGO #fundraising #crowdfunding #GlobalSouth #nonprofit #SDG11 #Agenda2030 #sustainablecities Source: https://lnkd.in/ejeKUVb

Can grassroots NGOs survive in the face of increasing competition for funds? There's a growing trend of large corporates and philanthropic organisations establishing their own fundraising teams to support their social impact work. This often results in unintended consequences. One of the major impacts is felt by grassroots NGOs, who often struggle to secure adequate funding due to stiff competition for limited resources. While corporates bring a new perspective and resources to the sector, grassroots NGOs offer unique perspectives and serve as lifelines for marginalised communities. Striking a balance where both corporate initiatives and grassroots NGOs can thrive is crucial. Can we create a world where large corporates and grassroots NGOs can co-exist? Or is this too idealistic? . . . . #Memes #Fundraising #SocialSector #CSR #Nonprofits #NGO #SocialImpact #Communications #SimitBhagatStudios

One of the forms of support most often requested by local organizations is help in mobilizing resources- primarily financial. Under NPI EXPAND, we took multiple approaches to providing this support, but I sometimes think our approaches are based too much on western notions of charity. Check out my latest blog on the topic and join us for our webinar to explore this issue in more depth. https://lnkd.in/ey-MU-YW

Multilingual fundraiser helping NGOs access funding from forward-thinking Trusts, Foundations and Institutions.
Hi LinkedIn 👋🏽 In between work, parenting a sleep-stealing toddler and a few weeks off, I've finally finished a labour of love I started back in April: 💡 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 & 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 🌱 Finding the right (𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺) funding often seems to be the biggest challenge charities face and seeking out the opportunities takes time even if you know where to look. So, to help make the search easier, I’m excited to share a run down of my favourite 𝙵̲𝚞̲𝚗̲𝚍̲𝚒̲𝚗̲𝚐̲ ̲𝙳̲𝚊̲𝚝̲𝚊̲𝚋̲𝚊̲𝚜̲𝚎̲𝚜̲ ̲𝚊̲𝚗̲𝚍̲ ̲𝚁̲𝚎̲𝚜̲𝚘̲𝚞̲𝚛̲𝚌̲𝚎̲𝚜̲ ̲specifically for organisations working in the International Development space 📊✨ This guide is designed to help you navigate the vast landscape of funding opportunities available to you wherever you're based 🌍 (Some entries are "Global South" specific 🎉 Big shout out to Justice Funds as my latest and favourite entry!) Arguably, the biggest challenge is the #developmentsector is #funding. Smaller the organization, working with the most under represented groups, and in the remotest and backward districts, lesser are the chances to get #discovered and funded by any #csr organization or anybody else. I have met with several founders who struggle with raising even minimal capital to run their organizations. Few possible routes to choose are - 1. Finding a larger-scale nonprofit that can #subgrant to the implementing organization. 2. Getting #incubated and receiving a seed funding from a handful of available such orgs. Very few CSR #leaders actually take the pain to find and directly fund almost invisible small scale NGOs which are doing great work. Kudos to them all. This leads me to a fundamental question- Why can't we mainstream funding of small-scale non-profit organizations. Further, I want to deliberate on what are the challenges, in addition to compliance related concerns, that #funders face when trying to support a lesser known NGO. And, how can an NGO survive in its first 2-3 years when they can't raise funds from any institutional funders. Inviting sector professionals to share their views.

Let’s continue with the SDG16-SIX-DAY-SERIES This is day 3 Ongoing and new violent conflicts around the world are derailing the global path to peace and achievement of Goal 16. In 2021, the world experienced the highest number of intentional homicides in the past two decades. ❗️ Structural injustices, inequalities and emerging human rights challenges are putting peaceful and inclusive societies further out of reach. To meet Goal 16 by 2030, action is needed to restore trust and to strengthen the capacity of institutions to secure justice for all and facilitate peaceful transitions to sustainable development. ⚠️ 🌎 🌏 🌍 Avinjo.org - Empowering NGOs Avinjo #Avinjo #NGO #fundraising #crowdfunding #GlobalSouth #nonprofit #SDG16 #Agenda2030 #peace #justice #institutions Source: https://lnkd.in/ejeKUVb

Now that you’ve secured funding, SO WHAT? NGOs often face several misconceptions about what it means to secure funding including how the money can be used and the frequency with which it will flow in. Reading these experiences pioneered by Emily Collins-Ellis was eye-opening and refreshing. Read more: https://lnkd.in/duQi5uKg Some of the experiences we liked included: 1. You will probably need to say no more than yes to how the money is spent or where it comes from. (Thanks to Dr. Daniela Lloyd-Williams) 2. You may still need to convince people internally about how to use funds - even after they have been secured. 3. Grant-makers are similar to fundraisers - it’s all about relationship management, raising and distributing funds. (Thanks to Alisha Pomells) What do you believe are the misconceptions about NGO funding and NGO Grantmaking? I.G. Advisors | Global Fund for Children | #GoodNightOut | civicfutures.org
