Advocate for the kind of city you believe you need. ✅️ Develop a vision for your building, street, and neighbourhood, and act on that vision. Are there enough jobs? Arguably, the biggest challenge is the #developmentsector is #funding. Smaller the organization, working with the most under represented groups, and in the remotest and backward districts, lesser are the chances to get #discovered and funded by any #csr organization or anybody else. I have met with several founders who struggle with raising even minimal capital to run their organizations. Few possible routes to choose are - 1. Finding a larger-scale nonprofit that can #subgrant to the implementing organization. 2. Getting #incubated and receiving a seed funding from a handful of available such orgs. Very few CSR #leaders actually take the pain to find and directly fund almost invisible small scale NGOs which are doing great work. Kudos to them all. This leads me to a fundamental question- Why can't we mainstream funding of small-scale non-profit organizations. Further, I want to deliberate on what are the challenges, in addition to compliance related concerns, that #funders face when trying to support a lesser known NGO. And, how can an NGO survive in its first 2-3 years when they can't raise funds from any institutional funders. Inviting sector professionals to share their views.

Through this series, our primary goal is to impart knowledge and promote awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs). Let’s continue with the SDG16-SIX-DAY-SERIES This is day 3 Ongoing and new violent conflicts around the world are derailing the global path to peace and achievement of Goal 16. In 2021, the world experienced the highest number of intentional homicides in the past two decades. ❗️ Structural injustices, inequalities and emerging human rights challenges are putting peaceful and inclusive societies further out of reach. To meet Goal 16 by 2030, action is needed to restore trust and to strengthen the capacity of institutions to secure justice for all and facilitate peaceful transitions to sustainable development. ⚠️ 🌎 🌏 🌍 Avinjo.org - Empowering NGOs Avinjo #Avinjo #NGO #fundraising #crowdfunding #GlobalSouth #nonprofit #SDG16 #Agenda2030 #peace #justice #institutions Source: https://lnkd.in/ejeKUVb

Can grassroots NGOs survive in the face of increasing competition for funds? There's a growing trend of large corporates and philanthropic organisations establishing their own fundraising teams to support their social impact work. This often results in unintended consequences. One of the major impacts is felt by grassroots NGOs, who often struggle to secure adequate funding due to stiff competition for limited resources. While corporates bring a new perspective and resources to the sector, grassroots NGOs offer unique perspectives and serve as lifelines for marginalised communities. Striking a balance where both corporate initiatives and grassroots NGOs can thrive is crucial. Can we create a world where large corporates and grassroots NGOs can co-exist? Or is this too idealistic? . . . . #Memes #Fundraising #SocialSector #CSR #Nonprofits #NGO #SocialImpact #Communications #SimitBhagatStudios

“Only large companies with more resources to spare can implement corporate purpose. For SMEs, the cost of doing good is not worth it.” It may seem that only large corporations can afford to make big donations to charity or organise flashy CSR initiatives. For SMEs, it may be difficult to envision your company creating a wide social impact. Yet, the beauty of corporate purpose is that any company can adopt it. Because purpose should be integrated into the company’s business strategy, it encourages companies to do good by capitalising on their unique strengths, without neglecting profit. Here’s why SMEs not only benefit from adopting purpose, but also possess unique advantages over larger companies in making purpose-driven changes. #CompanyofGood #CorporatePurpose #NVPC #SME

In today's fast-paced world, non-profits face an increasingly competitive landscape as they vie for limited funds from government bodies and funding entities. But there's a bright horizon ahead – social enterprise is emerging as the way forward! By integrating entrepreneurial methods into their operations, non-profits can not only drive their mission but also generate the financial capital necessary to sustain and expand their vision. This innovative approach allows organizations to create sustainable revenue streams, reducing dependency on traditional funding sources and fostering resilience and growth. Social enterprises blend purpose with profit, ensuring that every dollar earned is reinvested into creating positive social impact. It's about thinking beyond grants and donations, and harnessing the power of business to fuel meaningful change. As we move towards a future where social enterprise becomes the norm, we can look forward to a world where non-profits thrive, innovate, and continue to make a difference. #SocialEnterprise #NonProfitInnovation #SustainableImpact #FutureOfNonProfits #EntrepreneurialSpirit #SocialGood

One of the forms of support most often requested by local organizations is help in mobilizing resources- primarily financial. Under NPI EXPAND, we took multiple approaches to providing this support, but I sometimes think our approaches are based too much on western notions of charity. How can non-profits balance mission with sustainability? Balancing mission with sustainability is a crucial challenge for non-profit organisations. Here are a few things that come to mind. For my company I have to communicate my company’s purpose to the public via website People need to know what my company is all about and what its purpose is. I will also have to align staff whilst making strategic decisions. Also developing a strategic plan is essential. This is setting clear objectives and identifying resources needed to achieve them and establishing metrics to achieve them to monitor progress Diversified Funding - I have learnt to rely on multiple sources of income as this will reduce vulnerability . For the first year rely on grants and donations. Subsequently, do a lot of fundraising events , partner with organisations extend chargeable services.
