🚀 Ariane 6 on track for 2024 debut with milestones met amid past struggles The Ariane 6 Launcher Task Force provided reassuring news that, despite past delays, Europe's next-generation rocket remains on target for a mid-2024 maiden flight after successfully completing recent tests simulating launches. European Space Agency - ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher expressed satisfaction at the progress. More evaluations are planned this December before finalizing the launch window. Though smaller payloads will fly first, officials aim to ramp up to 9-10 commercial flights in 2025 to compete. While economic and workflow challenges persist in the supply chain, leaders are taking steps to control costs and ensure reliable autonomous access to space. T-minus 75!... was what we were going to say today. Instead, with SpaceX’s #Falcon9 inflight failure last week, we’ve been given notice that our launch will be slightly delayed. From our side, this doesn’t change the fact that we consider our position today an enormous success. We designed, manufactured, assembled, and qualified our first satellite in an extraordinarily short amount of time; accommodating some notably exotic requirements in a high-performance satellite mission. This was enabled by cutting-edge in-house-developed components but also by an incredibly talented and experienced team of engineers, a team we were able to scale to 55 people. And we’ve achieved all this just three years after our company’s founding. Our engineers are eagerly awaiting confirmation of a new launch date so we can send SIGI to the US, where we’ll begin the final stages before launch. We have full faith in SpaceX's ability to get the Falcon 9 up and running again soon. Until then, we’ll keep working on our upcoming satellite missions and continue our R&D projects. Contact lost with your satellite after launch? 🛰 ❌ 📡 This happens more often than you might think! We help satellite operators find back their satellite and re-establish comms. Establishing and, particularly, maintaining reliable RF communications with spacecraft in the first weeks after launch is critical and often linked closely to the success of a mission. However, keeping accurately track of the spacecrafts position in the first weeks can be very challenging for operators without specialized tracking support. This can result in communications to be lost after a few days or not even be established. If you are loosing or have lost contact, our search-and-rescue service comes in. We can search for even the weakest RF transmissions of your spacecraft and help (re-)locate it for you in orbit. Chinese Automaker Geely’s Satellite Launch Challenges SpaceX Dominance Bloomberg (2/3, Subscription Publication) reported that Geely subsidiary Geespace successfully launched eleven communications satellites over the weekend, marking a significant milestone in China’s efforts to establish a presence in low-Earth orbit. These satellites, part of Geespace’s planned network for supporting features in Geely’s vehicles and consumer electronics, join nine others sent up in 2022. Despite ambitious growth plans, Geespace must quicken its deployment schedule to reach its target of establishing a 72-satellite phase by next year.

Delayed by 4 years, the rocket, designed to compete with an early Falcon 9, is entering a different world (in which Starship will be around) than for which it was intended but satellite operators made it clear that they want more launch supply. While Ariane 6's backlog accounts for 56 launches to date, reflecting sign of trust from the market, many challenges are still arround for the Europe's workhorse. https://lnkd.in/dude2Bjc
