AWP Safety team members are safety-minded and decisive action-takers. Tyler, Zach, and James at Give 'Em A Brake Safety, an AWP Safety company, recently stopped to extinguish a brush fire along a local highway. We're so glad they're part of our family. #AWPSafety #AWPProud #EmployeeRecognition

I often reflect back on my time as a firefighter/paramedic. Although many of the memories I wish I could forget, these are the ones I cherish the most. The enjoyment you see from kids as you educate them on fire safety, equipment, and day to day operations makes it all worth while. Fire safety education is important at all levels of an organization. Increase your knowledge and advance positive fire and life safety behaviors among your organization. Have a plan of action, train on the plan, and execute the plan! #FireSafety #ThompsonSafety #FireTraining

There is a very good article in this month's Professional Safety Journal about classifying SIFs/PSIFs (serious injuries/fatalities or potential serious injuries/fatalities). The suggested classification adds tracking information regarding whether the incident resulted in exposure and if controls were present and effective. This provides a good way to judge what exposures are driving SIFs/PSIFS and most importantly, what was the capacity for recovery when the event occurs. ASSP.org

📢The profound impact of engaging in active shooter training extends beyond a mere practicality; it serves as a potent force in molding a society where safety is not an elusive privilege but a concrete entitlement upheld through a shared dedication to readiness. This perspective serves as a rallying cry, imploring individuals, communities, and institutions to willingly shoulder the responsibility of actively contributing to their own safety. 🎯In this context, active shooter training transcends its utilitarian purpose and takes on the symbolic role of a shield, representing our unified commitment to safeguarding the fundamental right to safety for everyone. This paradigm shift underscores the imperative for collective action and emphasizes the importance of preparedness as a cornerstone in creating a secure and protected society. #SafetyForAll #PreparednessCommitment #CollectiveShield #ActiveSafety #EmpoweredCommunities #ReadyTogether #SocietyPrepared #SymbolicSafety #CommunityResponsibility #SecureFuture #ProactivePreparedness #SafetyRights #UnifiedProtection #EmpowerSafetyCulture #ActiveShooterAwareness #TogetherSafe #CommitToSafety #PreparedCitizens #SafetyIsOurRight #ReadyAndResilient #executiveprotection #ep #epbylead #executive #leader #epquote #quote

Did you know that this week is Firefighter Safety Standdown Week? What does it mean? Is it a big deal, yea. A standdown is typically a big deal. Sometimes standdowns are planned, events scheduled and time dedicated to focus on areas that need attention. Other times, standdowns are done because something happened, like a serious injury or fatality. Each year the Fire Service has a dedicated week for a standdown. Each year has a theme and this years is Fire Training: Back to Basics. This week Fire Departments all around the country are using this time to focus on improving training, raising awareness and taking some extra time to focus on doing things right. The Fire Service aren't the only one's that have standdowns. This happens in many industries such as construction and oil & gas. Being proactive is a major factor in success. Standdowns area a great way to refocus and reset for safety. https://lnkd.in/ebPKA3D #RSS #leadership #safety #safetyleadership #NSC #NationalSafetyMonth #IAFF #firefighter #dyfj
