Justin Otley, Shouting out the good of an SDR Org that has multiple and defined promotions paths for their teams. SDR's are a great foundation for many roles. It's a motivating factor that success also breeds discovery of the best career path, not the only one. #kudos and thanks for being an inspiring leader. flipside If you can't promote the SDRs (for valid reasons), then figure out a way to turn them into Career SDRs. Match inflation for base increase, and double the amount for commission increase (at minimum) and you can be building an incredible pipeline (and revenue) generation engine.
Promotions in the past 3 months: 1️⃣ SDR to SE 2️⃣ SDR to Channel Manager 3️⃣ SDR to Commercial Account Executive (3) And now? My first deal at my new role closed yesterday—right during the demo. Seems simple enough, right? Nope. It felt like finding a shiny Pokemon. In other words, a 1 in 8192, or just a 0.0001% chance. I grew up GRINDING on my Gameboy, spending hours hunting for that rare shiny. So, when I finally caught one, the sense of accomplishment was incredible. That same drive fuels me in sales today. Sales is an infinite game. And reframing your failures is a cheat code for the human mind. Only had to account for: - the 49 people who hung up on me - the 17 who told me they weren’t interested, without hearing a word about what I had to offer - the 7 who scheduled a call, only to ghost me when the time came - the 4 who politely declined after a long discussion - the 3 who demanded more features than we could offer and - the 2 people who told me to f*** off in not so polite terms Long story short—it's the excitement of the chase that keeps me motivated. Funny enough, I recently got a new rug for my remote office to brighten things up a bit. It pays homage to the shiny Pokemon I hunted as a kid, which took me nearly 10,000 encounters to finally catch! Let's just hope it doesn't take 10,000 calls for the next deal to close 😉 P.S. Isn't this Milotic rug insane?!?!? P.P.S. Shoutout Garrett Beavers for the one call close.
