🌍 Excited to share my recent experience at the Intercultural TechCamp for Climate Change in Greece last week! In partnership with the U.S. Embassy Jerusalem, and Technion - Israel Institute of Technology's t:hub, this incredible workshop brought together over 40 young Jewish and Arab students and leaders to tackle climate change by fostering economic, scientific, and cultural cooperation. Over three days, we engaged in various sessions that connected us with experts in climate change and entrepreneurship, which included: ⛈ Creating Trustworthy AI for Weather and Climate by Dimitris Diochnos. 💡 Brainstorming activities to identify and categorize the challenges we face in our fields. 🚀 Interactive training sessions on AI for climate by Steve Brumby, storytelling for change Kate Furby, social media advocacy by Shomy Hasan Chowdhury, prototyping by Boaz Drori and more. This workshop was not only an opportunity to expand our knowledge but also to build lasting relationships with other emerging leaders, activists, influencers, and entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds. Together, we brainstormed, developed, and refined project ideas aimed at addressing climate change challenges in our communities and the region. 📣 A highlight for me working with my group on tackling the lack of awareness among young adults in Israel and SWANA in general. I had the honor of presenting "EcoTeens," a climate awareness channel by teens for teens, on behalf of our group. I’m incredibly grateful for the new connections, insights, and tools I gained. I'm looking forward to applying what I’ve learned and continuing our collaboration to drive impactful change! ⚡ It was an action-filled week of events and meetings that reenergized the Israeli climate and energy ecosystems with new spirit! Though we find ourselves in a rough time in Israel and the ME in general, (to say the least) it was inspirational to see how entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, and community leaders are pushing forward to find solutions to critical problems that are affecting us worldwide. 🎤 I was proud to speak at Planetech World 2024 conference earlier this week to present how Enel's Tel Aviv Innovation Hub is fostering innovation in renewable energy - and I hope I've challenged some startups to develop their solutions 💡 ☎ Now comes the time to wind down and turn all those new contacts into meetings and work! 🚀 Yesterday we kicked off climate week in Tel Aviv with the fabulous PLANETech - Climate Change Technologies conference that brought the entire ecosystem together for a much needed day of sharing new technologies and ideas! 🎗 🌏 💬 I was super excited to start off the day by joining representatives from corporations and investors from IEC - Israel Electric Corporation חברת החשמל לישראל בע"מ, Tadiran Group, Firstime VC, and Quantum Hub in a fascinating workshop called “100 Ideas for a Climate Startup – Unpacking Corporate Challenges.”  We brainstormed corporate climate challenges across key sectors to pave the way for startups to address real-world needs and inspire the creation of pioneering climate tech startups. 💡 Our focus was on pain points that energy companies are facing in storage 🔋 renewables production 🔅 🌀 and energy transmission and distribution ⚡ 🎯 The findings from this workshop directly fed into next session, "100 Ideas for a Climate Startup," in which a group of entrepreneurs took the challenges we wrote out and brainstormed solutions :) Amir Horowitz Raz Ron Noy Rimer Eli Menasheof Yael Meir

To say it's been a rough start of 2024 for Israeli tech is probably an understatement.. Thankfully this ecosystem is full of amazing people who are keeping it resilient despite the circumstances. I highly recommend you check out this incredibly researched report that deep dives the Israeli decarbonization landscape! Mile Advisory is led by Morielle, who despite being personally touched by the recent brutal events, has been a beacon of hope and light in an otherwise darkening time. I'm honored to call her a friend and climate colleague. She's reminding us that especially in these dark times, it's crucial to keep a focus on how we can build a better future. Despite the fact that it seems climate change has taken a back seat in the past few months, our planet continues to warm and decarbonization technologies are more important than ever.
