We just published a SMART-COP calculator based on the popular clinical prediction rule for patients with community acquired hashtag #pneumonia likely to require hashtag #ICU admission and IRVS. This was shown to perform better than the PSI and CURB-65. The SMART-COP developed by Charles et al. in 2008 accurately identifies those patients with CAP at risk of needing ICU admission (92.3% sensitivity, 62.3% specificity and AUC of 0.87), with intensive respiratory and/or vasopressor support.
