What a wild ride it's been, from that first proof of concept in a #Jupyter notebook to the final deployment on a #Kubernetes cluster, 620 commits later! While I'm more at home in the Java- and .NET-universe, it's fascinating how the maturity of #Python's infrastructure for creating #geospatial applications made seemingly big problems easily solvable. Especially #GeoPandas and #Shapely have been great tools. On the other hand, seemingly simple issues like finding the correct public transport hub near the airport's reference point or finding an efficient algorithm for unioning large polygons truly put our problem-solving skills to the test.

NDC – Challenges in Adoption and Growth. New Distribution Capability (NDC) has been around for a while. However even today, airlines are challenged with certain aspects of the implementation and adoption. From doing many NDC audits for airlines of all sizes and regions, we have learned that airlines do the following things very right, or wrong – wrong also meaning perhaps not at all due to the lack of realisation of the importance, lack of time, lack of resources or other reasons - read more about this in our latest blog, written by Daniel Friedli - in collaboration with the World Aviation Festival of Terrapinn.
