As we stand on the threshold of June, it is time to bid adieu to May—a month woven with achievements and opportunities for growth. Each day, each moment, has contributed to the intricate tapestry of our collective journey, marking another step in our self annual performance review. Reflecting on our accomplishments, we see the fruit of our diligence and dedication. Projects have reached fruition, goals have been surpassed, and challenges have been met with unwavering resolve. Every success, no matter how small, has been a testament to our commitment to excellence. These victories, whether celebrated or quietly acknowledged, propel us forward, fortifying our foundation for the months ahead. Yet, alongside these triumphs, May has also illuminated areas ripe for improvement. These opportunity areas are not failures but signposts guiding us toward greater heights. They remind us that the pursuit of perfection is a journey, not a destination. Embracing these insights with humility and determination, we find the strength to evolve, to innovate, and to refine our strategies. As we embark on June, let us carry the lessons of May with us. Let us challenge ourselves to become more resilient, more agile, and more visionary. Each day offers a canvas upon which we can paint a more vibrant picture of our potential. Let us strive to be a more perfect version of ourselves, both individually and as an organization. In this continuous quest for excellence, let us remember that it is the collective effort that transforms aspirations into achievements. Together, we can navigate the complexities of our tasks, support each other in moments of doubt, and celebrate the milestones we reach. Together, let us craft a year that stands as a testament to our dedication and our relentless pursuit of excellence. The future beckons, and it is ours to shape with the artistry of our endeavors and the elegance of our aspirations. #ReflectAndEvolve #StriveForExcellence #ReflectAndGrow #JourneyToExcellence #CraftingOurFuture #MonthlyMilestones #FutureFocused #EmbraceChallenges #CraftingOurFuture #FutureBeckons

Last month marked my 6th year at Kendra Scott, and it’s hard to put into words how grateful I am for my time here. This year, I became the Co-Chair of our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Council and finally met Kendra! Two things that have been on my bucketlist for years! To celebrate, here are 6 things I’ve learned from my time at Kendra Scott: 1. Despite what you may have heard, women actually want and are meant to work together! 2. Prioritizing belonging isn't just a "nice to have"; it's essential for creating a workplace that employees are proud to brag about. 3. A nonlinear career can provide a diverse skill set and enriching life experiences, opening doors to unexpected and rewarding opportunities. 4. Great leaders see possibility in their teams and inspire their people to innovate without fear! 5. We all have an innate desire to help others and should leverage our positions to improve our corners of the world. 6. Be like the Boss: Like Kendra, lead with heart and see the person behind every interaction. I can’t help but to feel that there’s so much more for me to learn and I’m looking forward to every lesson! Cheers to 6 years, KS! ✨

As we approach the new year, let’s take a moment to acknowledge the value of personal development - because let’s face it, life isn’t just about mahi and projects, right? Reflecting on the past and looking ahead isn’t just for our professional selves - it’s a bit like juggling life with husbands, wives, kids, whanau, and community commitments. It’s absolute chaos. And personal development could be the secret that keeps us sane(ish). Personal development is like being the CEO of your life, navigating the boardroom meetings with hubby, negotiating treaties with your children, attending PTA conferences (aka survival of the fittest, and I’ve just tapped out), and being the superhero māmā when your kid comes home with tomorrows class Christmas party menu. So, let’s swap stories on how you balance these roles in your daily life. What are your personal growth aspirations for this whirlwind of a journey? #personaldevelopment #reflections #continuousimprovement

I often reflect on the power of networking and how it can help me as an MD, navigate this ever-changing landscape of the construction industry. In 2023, my reflection word is ‘resilience’. The strength to overcome challenges and keep moving forward. Looking ahead to 2024, I’m adopting a ‘growth mindset’. Embracing continual learning and development as a key to success. Networking goes beyond transactions; it’s about authentic connections that contribute to our collective resilience and growth mindset. What key words guide your journey in 2023 and 2024? #resilience #growth #mindset #networking #growthmindset

We often celebrate our collective victories. But what about our setbacks? These moments, though challenging, offer invaluable lessons. Our recent step-back in Agra was a testament to this. It wasn’t just about team bonding or knowledge sharing; it was about confronting our shortcomings head-on. Such initiatives are particularly crucial for field teams. They break down silos, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. When we openly discuss our challenges, we realize we're not alone. It’s a comforting revelation that can inspire innovation and resilience. A company that provides a safe space for such discussions is one that values growth over perfection. It's a place where mistakes aren't feared but seen as opportunities. So, let's not shy away from our failures. After all, even the greatest explorers have lost their way at times. But it’s in those moments that they’ve discovered the most extraordinary paths. Central Square Foundation

For Women’s History Month, we’re recognizing the successes and achievements of BARDA employees. Meet Connie Song, Lead Contract Specialist, Division of Contract Management and Acquisitions. One of Connie’s greatest career achievements to date is having the opportunity to support the BARDA mission and working with such a talented and dedicated group. She added, “specifically providing contracting support to the Division of Research, Innovation and Ventures (DRIVe) in launching new and novel program initiatives.” Connie’s advice to young women who are just starting their professional careers is: “stay true to yourself and pursue your passions. Those incremental steps (some of which will feel like steps backwards) toward achieving every goal you set out to tackle is part of the experience that makes those more challenging moments worthwhile — there’s no failure in learning.” Women strengthen public health and national security with their dedication to meaningful work.
