What a Great way to start the year, Reflecting on yourself and how you can overcome Limitation Created by your Mindset. Your Mindset Determines Your Success Your beliefs about yourself have a significant impact on your actions most of the time. Let me share a personal story with you. There was a period in my life when I read extensively, took courses, and earned certifications in various fields, yet I couldn't apply for some traditional jobs because I had a limiting mindset. I constantly doubted my practical abilities because I thought I lacked practical experience in the field, despite being certified. This recurring thought prevented me from applying for jobs because I feared I wouldn't be able to convince the interviewer, and I didn't want to be embarrassed. This mindset affected my growth process, confidence level, willingness to take challenges, and let more opportunities come my way. I continued accepting low-paying jobs because I couldn't sell myself well due to the limitations I unknowingly created for myself. One day, I decided to change my mindset and started working against it by affirming empowering statements such as "I can do this" and "I can try this." This approach worked wonders for me. I was able to take on some challenges and discovered that they were only difficult because I thought they were; in reality, they weren't as challenging as I imagined. That's how I overcame this limiting mindset. Define who you are and what you want to become by the power of your thoughts. It's funny, when I think about my 12-year (!!) friendship and professional partnership with John, there's been a constant refrain. Whenever I say that I can't do something, or am feeling stuck, he will always say, "Wait. You can't do it... yet!" And then proceeds to think alongside me about how to take a first step towards yet-ness. I find it easier to work with than the more general language of "growth mindset". It's almost an invitation to imagine the impossible, and move yourself to a place of openness-to-possibility, from one of frustration and mental or physical collapse. "Yet" is such a tiny word, but it signifies a belief that change is possible, and that there is always something to be done. It reminds me of this quote that I read today: "If you’re worried that it’s too late to do anything...and we should all just give up, I have great news for you: that day is not coming in your lifetime. But let me share something important: 💣the idea that the grass is always greener somewhere else is often a misconception. 🌳 The truth is, the grass flourishes where you put in the effort and care. Just like a neglected garden loses its vitality, so do opportunities and experiences if they're not nurtured and cherished. In your professional journey, it's easy to imagine that "somewhere else" will bring ultimate fulfillment. However, the most successful careers usually stem from a deep commitment to your own growth, and growth is uncomfortable. Remember: ✨We are the main narrator & actor of our own story.✨ The way we keep unfolding it relies on how we make sense of things, ie our belief structure. It's what we call the software of our brain. Internal beliefs are powerful. As they are within us, they lead our journey. While some support us to thrive, others sabotage us, and interfere with our potential. These beliefs consist of conclusions about ourselves : 📍our strengths and weaknesses 📍our limits and possibilities 📍what our worth is based on Although these beliefs seem true to us, they may be completely irrational. Authenticity is a superpower. 2. Trust the process and timing of your life – the dots always connect. 3. Gratitude changes everything. 4.
