I'd like to introduce you to Bacchus' Favorites an exclusive club founded in 2013. This group was formed by a select group of Spanish executives who were living and working in the United Kingdom. The founding members are distinguished professionals, holding executive responsibilities in major companies across various industries. The club's name, Bacchus' Favorites, reflects their shared appreciation for fine wine and good company, inspired by Bacchus, the Roman god of wine. The primary purpose of this club is to foster networking and camaraderie among its members, who share a common cultural heritage and professional background. Through ruegular meetings and events, Bacchus' Favorites provides a unique platform for its members to exchange ideas, discuss industry trends, and build meaningful relationships in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. An exclusive club such as Bacchus' Favorites offers significant opportunities for both personal and professional development, particularly for executives who are passionate about culture, business, and learning from others' experiences. Firstly, the club facilitates high-level networking. Members are typically executives from various industries and countries, providing a unique chance to build relationships with peers who share similar professional interests and values. These connections can lead to valuable business collaborations, partnerships, and new opportunities in different markets. Additionally, the club serves as a cultural exchange platform. Members bring diverse perspectives and experiences from their respective countries and industries. This diversity enriches discussions, offering insights into different cultural approaches to business, management styles, and market dynamics. In the global marketplace of the wine industry, understanding and navigating cultural differences is crucial. The wine business not only involves the trading of goods but also the sharing of a cultural artifact deeply embedded with local traditions and values. This is where cross-cultural communication becomes essential. Erin Meyer's book, The Culture Map, provides valuable insights into how different cultures around the world perceive communication, time, authority, and more. These concepts can be directly applied to enhance interactions and operations in the international wine market. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eHVSp3xb

From avoiding events like the plague to becoming a social butterfly. Lately, it seems that everyone has caught on to the fact that I now make it a point to attend a minimum of two events every week. In the fast-paced and competitive world of hospitality, networking plays a crucial role in establishing oneself and achieving success. Firstly, networking allows professionals in the industry to build meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals, industry experts, and potential clients. These connections not only foster trust and camaraderie but also open doors for collaboration, mentorship, and future opportunities. By attending industry events, joining professional organisations, and engaging in online communities, hospitality professionals can expand their network, gain valuable insights, and stay updated on industry trends. Secondly, hospitality networking creates a platform for knowledge exchange and continuous learning. Through networking, professionals can share best practices, innovative ideas, and industry-specific knowledge. By attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, individuals can gain insights into the latest hospitality trends, technological advancements, and business strategies. This exposure to diverse perspectives and experiences enhances professional growth, keeps individuals ahead of the curve, and empowers them to make informed decisions in their careers or businesses. Remember, hospitality networking goes beyond small talk, free refreshments, posing for photos, exchanging business cards or adding connections on LinkedIn. It is about building genuine relationships, contributing to the community, and nurturing a network that can uplift you in your hospitality journey. 📸 Nathaniel Morales MIH Gouqi London Institute of Hospitality Institute of Hospitality London Region Chaîne des Rôtisseurs GB Disciples Escoffier International The Chefs' Forum Gastromasa Be Inclusive Hospitality World Young Chef Young Waiter Miss Jones Group Asian Leadership Collective #hospitality #networking

The title for this video is pretty cringeworthy, but I think that the overall message is stellar: Make sure that you're always striving to be as hospitable as you possibly can. Like, to a ridiculous extreme. The argument here is that if two different services are equivalent in almost every way, the differentiator might be how personalized of an experience the consumer is offered. You can't just give just good service - remember that the idea is to go beyond expectation. Leave your consumer with an experience they'll never forget. Any service that's provided can benefit. Restaurants are the example that Will Guidara uses to lay the foundation for the discussion since it's probably what most of us think of when we think of hospitality, but this mentality could easily be applied to how you manage your people, how you interact with your coworkers, how you interact with folks online... you catch my drift. This video is well worth the five minutes it takes to watch. Happy Memorial Day weekend, network! 🇺🇸

Once again, it was that time of year... After a few years' break, I was back at the Oktoberfest in Munich, together with some great clients and colleagues. Immediately afterwards we had an inspiring away day of our fabulous Ashurst EMEA competition team with almost 100 lawyers coming together from all parts of the world. That in itself is not remarkable, but those two events in a row that combine business with socialising made it once again clear to me how important social interaction, the social “glue”, is in the professional environment as well. Social events are anything but unprofessional and cannot and should not be separated from professional life, especially not in a high-performance environment. Why is that actually the case? I can think of a few reasons: ✅ In an era where the boundaries between work and private life are becoming increasingly blurred and dominated by screens and virtual interactions, close relationships at work are becoming more and more important. ✅ Human relationships form the basis for a healthy and productive work environment. The trust that arises from these relationships leads to better communication, more effective collaboration, more engagement and productivity, and greater job satisfaction. ✅ The stress of everyday working life can have a negative impact on our mental and physical health. Events and team-building activities provide an outlet for releasing this stress and helping us to relax. This leads to a more positive mood and an overall improvement in our mental well-being. ✅ Social events can also stimulate creativity and innovation among employees. When teams work together outside of their usual work environment and routines, they can develop new ideas and solutions that help improve products, services and work processes. ☝️Firms that understand this and invest in such events do more than just create a pleasant working environment. 💡 As a competition lawyer, what I like most is that socialising plays such a crucial role in corporate culture, which in turn strengthens long-term competitiveness and business success. 🚀 (p.s. we had the idea to take a picture unfortunately only after the other team members already had gone inside the tent) #culture #wellbeing #team #competition

Is Shareholder or Consumer the King? These past few days I have been intrigued by the concept of Hospitality and went down the rabbit hole to understand what it is all about. I realized it is different than service which focuses on meeting customers' needs & solving their problems, whereas hospitability is about making customers FEEL welcome, comfortable, and happy (based on Les Roches , one of the world's leading hospitality schools). Yes the shareholder's investment is important to start a business, but it is the customers who pay the bills to maintain & even expand our business. But Danny Meyer who founded Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) which gave birth to some of New York's most beloved and acclaimed restaurants like Gramercy Tavern and Eleven Madison Park (voted as The World's Best Restaurant in 2017), think differently. His restaurants are well known for its distinctive and celebrated culture of Enlightened Hospitality with the guiding principle of: Prioritizing Employees First & Foremost. This has driven and shaped USHG's ongoing evolution from a small group of restaurants into a multi-faceted hospitality organization. Danny said: "Business, like life, is all about how you make people feel." Not only our customers', but also our employees'. If employees feel like the organization is theirs, they will not only be more engaged and productive, but also improve innovation and relationship with colleagues, which will be naturally felt by guests. How do you develop this sense of ownership? By making them feel connected & work together for a common goal. One of the ways to do this is through Team Bonding, which is what my friend Rajat Desai is doing in partnership with Sing Experience Pte Ltd offering 35+ themed games & activities designed to help teams communicate, collaborate, & negotiate better in a fun and engaging environment through over 1,000 events since 2010. PS: I have also added on the comment links to Youtube videos where I learned about hospitality from Danny Meyer and Will Guidara, who wrote the New York Times bestselling book: Unreasonable Hospitality. #Hospitality #EmployeeExperience #Teambuilding
