Taking action in the wake of #HurricaneBeryl, our CEO Lorenzo Simonelli is leading by example, showing how deep our commitment is to supporting our local communities. Thousands of our employees (and their little ones ❤️) call the Houston, Texas area home. Check out Lorenzo's post below to see our core values in action. Today, members of our team will be participating in a telethon event hosted by KHOU 11 and the American Red Cross to raise donations for those impacted across the Greater Houston area. This week in Houston has been challenging, to say the least. Since Monday, Hurricane Beryl has left millions without power, including at my own home. It will be a long road of recovery, and with heat indexes exceeding 100 degrees F/37 degrees C, it is dangerous for many to be without basic amenities. Baker Hughes has thousands of employees in the area. It is a core part of our sustainability strategy to support the communities we live and work. Our employees are safe and our facilities have not incurred any major damage so we are able to support our customers, but we know there is more we can do. I am so proud of the ways we are caring for our community and putting people first to take energy forward. Some examples: 🆘 We have announced a $75,000 Baker Hughes Foundation grant to the American Red Cross Greater Houston Chapter. This grant will help provide comfort, shelter, and supplies to over 10,000 people in the impacted area. https://lnkd.in/eQV-GPpU 🏢 We opened our headquarters office for employees to bring their families during working hours, allowing them to cool off, charge, and care for each other in a safe space. In between meetings, I even got to give a personal tour to Prudence, daughter of Adrienne Lynch, our global public relations director. Thank you to our team members in Houston and globally for ensuring business continuity this week, and every day. It speaks to the strength of our resilience and our core values in action: lead, collaborate, grow, and care. #WeAreBakerHughes #CommunityAffairs #DisasterRelief #CompanyCulture #HurricaneBeryl Adrienne Lynch Brenda (Bee) Clark
