On World Autism Awareness Day, Lydia Shadrach-Razzino writes, "For too long, neurologically diverse employees have felt the need to mask their way of looking at the world. Now, we are discovering that many amongst us are neurodiverse, and therein lies our collective strength. Neurodiverse employees are acknowledged for their role in significantly boosting team creativity and productivity but often don’t feel comfortable to reveal their neurodiversity." For Autism Awareness Month, Guidant Global have a number of speakers and workshops for our team, to ensure we're developing a workplace where we can embrace the skills that autistic workers have to give. Only 3 in 10 working age autistic disabled people are in employment, compared with around 5 in 10 for all disabled people and 8 in 10 for non-disabled people. Only around 35% of autistic employees are fully open about being autistic, with 1 in 10 not disclosing to anyone at work. We look to support a neurodiverse team and make the most of neurodivergent talent. We wish everyone affected a constructive Autism Awareness Month. #AutismAwareness #Neurodiversity

Today, as we observe Autism Awareness Day, let us consider the magnificent tapestry of neurodiversity that enriches our world. As a psychologist who is dedicated about promoting understanding and acceptance, I encourage all of us to appreciate the individuality of those on the autism spectrum. Our culture celebrates variety in numerous ways, but neurodiversity is not always treated with the same care. Autism Awareness Day is a poignant reminder to raise the voices and experiences of people with autism, honoring their vital contributions to our communities. Let us foster empathy, patience, and compassion in our talks today and in the future. Let us try to build surroundings that develop persons with autism's qualities and abilities while also instilling a sense of belonging and inclusion. #AutismAwarenessDay #Neurodiversity #EmbraceUniqueness #InclusionMatters

💙💙💙 Autism Acceptance Month Fact #19: Sensory sensitivities are prevalent among individuals on the autism spectrum. People with autism may experience heightened or diminished sensitivity to various sensory inputs such as sounds, sights, textures, tastes, or smells. These sensory differences can significantly impact their daily experiences and interactions with the environment. Understanding and accommodating sensory sensitivities is crucial in creating supportive and inclusive spaces for individuals with autism. By recognizing and respecting their unique sensory needs, we can help mitigate sensory overload and promote a more comfortable and accessible environment for them to thrive. Let's embrace neurodiversity and advocate for environments that consider and respect the sensory experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum. Together, we can foster greater understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals with diverse sensory profiles. 💙💙 #AutismAcceptance #SensorySensitivities #InclusiveSpaces
