Imagine if every piece of information we received—from media, health professionals, policies, social media, coaches, teachers, and loved ones—was safe from promoting #eatingdisorders. Introducing the Eating Disorder Safe principles – an Australian first for #FirstNations peoples within the eating disorder space. Created in partnership with individuals with lived experiences, caregivers, clinicians, First Nations health practitioners, educators, and researchers, these principles aim to prevent and reduce harm related to eating disorders. They provide a comprehensive framework for addressing health, food, mind, and body within society. By ensuring consistent and safe communication about bodies, nutrition, health policies, and accommodating differences, we can reduce the risk of eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image distress. Two of NCNMs First Nations staff members Dr Alana Gall and Zyana Gall have been working with the National Eating Disorders Collaboration for nearly a year to develop these principles and the policy document is being launched today. 🙏 Join the online launch: 📆 24 July, 12:00-1:00pm AEST 🔗 https://bit.ly/NEDCedSafe
