#ForceDesignFriday How many Marines are in an infantry squad? A topic of debate for decades. For Force Design 2030, the infantry squad went from 13 to 15. https://lnkd.in/enPhYzex But it wasn't always that way. As the USMC reduced infantry squads from 13 to 11 in the mid-1980s while increasing firepower 25%, the service returned to 13 members under General Kelley, as indicated in the November 1985 issues of "Marines" (Vol. XIV, No.11). If one reads carefully, the service divested of future capabilities to invest in current capabilities, specifically personnel structure, understanding the future capabilities wouldn't be available to the Marine Corps for a few years. History doesn't repeat, but it often rhymes... What will Force Design 2050 look like? #Marines #USMC #ForceDesign #military #Defense #strategy #people #infantry #squad

This is such great insight: “Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret.” Read on for the explanation ../
Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret. Yes, I said that correctly. The biggest challenge I ever faced wasn’t donning the Green Beret…it was taking it off. Transition from the military is an unknown journey that tests even the greatest special operators in ways they never imagined as they’re forced to answer the question of what’s next. Green Beret Foundation has placed Veteran Service Officers in each active duty Special Forces Group to assist transitioning operators answer this question, navigate the disability benefits process and provide job placement services as they prepare for the next chapter in life. The Green Beret Foundation (GBF) launched the Pineland Initiative on November 10, 2021. This new campaign focuses on expanding the Foundation’s scope of services to include pre-9/11 U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers and their families. The Pineland Initiative, which launched in 2022, reflects a 3-year phased approach to growth and expansion of existing programs and services to accommodate the needs of the pre-9/11 Green Beret population. One key aspect of this expansion is the welcoming of additional Veteran Service Officers (VSOs) onboard GBF staff to meet the anticipated greater need for assistance with the preparation and prosecution of Veterans Affairs benefits and disability claims. These new VSOs will bring with them the added benefit of providing a Foundation presence geographically located at each of the five Active Duty Special Forces Groups, and two National Guard Special Forces Groups, located around the country. The name “Pineland” pays tribute to the shared legacy of Green Berets, past and present. This initiative is well-timed, as the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the U.S. Army Special Forces will be commemorated this coming June 19th. With Pineland being the first initiative in GBF’s history to support Green Berets of all generations, there’s an opportunity to honor those that laid the groundwork to make the Green Berets the world’s premier, elite special operations force. The GBF is asking that those wishing to support the Pineland Initiative campaign consider making a commitment of support to the Foundation at the amount of just a $12 monthly recurring contribution. #greenberet #specialforces #militaryfamilies #veteransupport #Pineland #greenberetfoundation
The Pineland Initiative of the Green Beret Foundation extended access to our comprehensive programs and services to all generations of U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers and their families. ONLINE NOW: “Although the mission of the Army is to fight and win this nation’s wars, you don’t have to pollute and waste to do so. As a matter of fact, conservation is, as they say, a combat multiplier,” said AL&T editor-in-chief, Nelson McCouch III. The spring issue explores the many ways the US Army, through the direction of the Army Acquisition Executive, the Honorable Douglas R. Bush, along with the #ArmyAcquisition Workforce and our industry partners, are creating and fielding technology to make the Army more effective and efficient. Read how: https://lnkd.in/e4WKG9UG. Vice President, Distribution- Retirement Solutions at Principal / Principal Securities Registered Representative
December is always that time of the year when parents are faced with having difficult discussions with their children and I don't mean the one about santa claus being real but with the Army-Navy game next week, "what is the difference between the Army and Navy and all the other branches?" I have had numerous requests to share this diagram once again since it has helped countless parents navigate this complex question. Required Disclaimers: 1.) I do not take credit for the creation of this visual aid since it was shared with me 2.) I support every branch of the military... yes even the Coast Guard and Space Force 3.) This diagram has not been approved by DOD (Dept of Defense) 4.) It can also be used as a coloring tool for Marines before meals. However, it is highly recommended that you do not give them crayons but a marker which would not be considered edible 5.) This post is for comedy relief only 6.) No animals were harmed during the making of this post #beatnavy #singsecond #veterans #armynavygame

If Congress is unable to reach an agreement, the USG will shutdown on Sunday, at 12:01a. Without special provisions, which presently don’t exist, the US #military will not be paid. Airmen, Guardians, #Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Coasties will be required to report for duty, despite not being paid on time. The vast majority of junior enlisted servicemembers (& Americans) live paycheck to paycheck. Missing one paycheck will have detrimental impacts on our servicemembers quality of life. It will undoubtedly impact force morale, recruitment, and retention. You can urge your Representatives to protect military pay at the link in comments. Please send this in daily, so that we can flood their inboxes. (1x per 24hrs) ______________________ 📸 I know how much everyone loved the Zelensky + Biden photo earlier this week and I know how much everyone loves to tell me I’m favoring the [insert any political party] too much, so figured I’d keep it rolling. 🇺🇦 #militaryfamilies #qualityoflife #semperfidelis #semperparatus #uscg #usmc #ukraine #veteranaffairs #veteransstrengtheningamerica #defensespending

Government contracting is NOT ⛔ a monolith! There is no one-size-fits-all 👖here. Did you know 💡 that there are almost 100 different #govcon departments at the federal level? These departments, like the United States Department of Defense, have agencies underneath them, like the 🥾US Army, the 🔱US Navy ⚓, and the 🚀United States Air Force, 🛰as an example. There are over 230 of those 🏛agencies, each under their respective department.... AND THEN, there are over 6600 offices 🏢 under their respective department and agency. SO DO YOU KNOW YOUR 😎CUSTOMER??

FRA Launches 2024 Survey on Military and Veterans Benefits As part of its mission to convey enlisted concerns to Capitol Hill, the FRA is conducting an online survey to determine the most crucial military and veteran benefits for active duty and Reserve personnel, retirees, veterans, and their families. The brief survey invites current and former members of the uniformed services, as well as their spouses, to rate various benefits and quality-of-life programs linked to their service to our nation. The FRA urges all current and former military personnel and their spouses to share opinions on the programs they value most. Survey responses and participant comments offer the legislative team vital reference information for Congressional testimony and one-on-one meetings with lawmakers and their staff. Survey results are shared with elected officials on Capitol Hill, key committee staff, and leaders within the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Veterans Affairs to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the enlisted sea service perspective.
