95% of design studios fail in a year. I started QuadGrid - Design Studio for being in that 5%. Here's why: 1 year ago, I worked at a design agency for about 6 months as a contract and this is how my experience turned out: – No creative freedom – Highly exhausted – And I didn’t like what I designed while working with them Even after the contract, I removed that from experience so that you can imagine how exhausted I was while working with them. The reason why I joined them is so that I can learn how a design agency works but stress is the final result. I knew that there had to be a better way. So I took a step ahead and started QuadGrid. Now I am a solopreneur and can express my creativity up to a peak extent. And my vision at QuadGrid: – Put client’s needs first – Foster creativity but not conformity Now I am answerable for my actions and I am enjoying every moment. It’s been 8 months and here are the results I experienced: – 12+ happy clients – Quality improved 12x – Innovation is boosted rapidly QuadGrid isn’t just a studio. It’s a philosophy: – Quality over quantity – Innovation over limitation – Relationships over transactions Here are some lessons I learnt while building this: – Creative freedom = Quality design – Great design solves problems not just looks pretty – Your “why” matters more than your “what” To all the upcoming solopreneurs/studio owners: It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. BTW What’s your dream for the design world? #design #solopreneur #designstudio

Executive Consultant | Blooloop50 Immersive Influencer 2023 | Public Speaker | Founder | Chief Creative Officer | Designer | Author | Experiential Entertainment Entrepreneur
All property owners seeking to enter the experiential entertainment sector should read Bart Dohmen ‘s article on Blooloop As a global business owner in this space for more than a decade I could not agree more. We don’t engage in free competitions under any circumstance. The paid competitions are also often a waste of time in emerging markets, where flash wins out over substance. I cannot tell you how many times we have been called back in to an owner a year or two later to address absurd rose colored business models pitched by overpriced feasibility firms, flashy art that can’t be built, or experiential developments that are inoperable. Platitudes and heavy use of grandiose adjectives are attractive to emerging markets who don’t yet have the depth of knowledge to understand the process of engagement, construction, and operations. Take the time necessary to invest in team education and building relationships up front. It will save you tens to hundreds of millions in the long run.
This article will probably resonate with design studios as it gives my opinion on the (un)sense of design studio pitches. At TDAC , we assist investors and developers in their journey to attraction investment and realization. Because of this, our clients often come from the real estate world which often leads to interesting discussions about the difference between the rational practices in the real estate world and emotional practices in the attraction world. The longer we work with clients, the more they begin to appreciate this difference. Pitches are part of this process and this is what this article published today at Blooloop is about. Thank you Charles and Charlotte voor publishing an article of me again. More articles can be found at our website: https://lnkd.in/eApz2hF9 , including some more articles describing specific theme park practices. Here is one about the oh so important factor: "Gut feeling". https://lnkd.in/ec-nqkJe https://lnkd.in/eEj2k_DD

Since joining the studio in December 2023, I’ve had the opportunity to observe what sets Design Piñata apart in a way that is not always common in this field. What stood out to me the most was the team’s dedication to working with utmost honesty and transparency. Often studios find it easier (and profitable) to simply agree with a client’s demands, even when it may compromise on the quality or authenticity of the work. But at Design Piñata, I’ve seen a different approach: one rooted in integrity. Whether it’s being brutally honest with an existing client or upfront and clear with a potential client, I’ve learnt that transparency is essential. This commitment ensures that both the studio and client grow together, fostering a relationship built on trust and mutual success. The team doesn’t just say “yes” because the client asks for it. At Design Piñata we are encouraged to set clear expectations about what can be achieved, all while ensuring that the best possible outcomes are delivered. This commitment to honesty, even when it means challenging conversations, is refreshing and truly sets the studio apart in an industry that often prioritizes client appeasement over creative integrity. At times this is done at the cost of losing out a project, but it is followed nonetheless. A standout example of this occurred when I heard our studio head, Avanti Phumbhra, on a call with an old client. The client, whose nature of business is such that they need to have their services updated on their communication regularly, had been getting their brochure edited repeatedly, without questioning the charges. However, they hadn't realized how much of their marketing budget was being spent on these frequent redesigns. Instead of just pushing through for the sake of additional revenue, Avanti took the time to point out this unnecessary expense to the client, encouraging them to have a conversation with the team wherein they could devise a solution that would reduce/avoid this frequent expense. It was striking to see a business owner prioritizing the client’s well being over the studio’s immediate financial gain. But that’s the philosophy here “If the client grows, we grow”. This mindset fosters stronger, more trusting relationships, which ultimately benefit both parties in the long run. In an industry where the easy path often takes precedence, how many of us can say that we’ve stayed true to our principles, even if it means having tough conversations or losing out on business. I’d love to hear your perspective.

When I was 20, I started my 1st business: SuperNova Studio's, an agency which … → helped architects with visualisation & (digital) design. We - the 5 co-founders - started the business because we worked as interns in an architecture studio, and saw how the digital 3D world could accelerate the physical world of architecture. → Similar to how AI now disrupts other physical domains We ALSO saw that external agencies made good money for the same things that we did as interns. ( for a lot less ! ) → So we just started Our first offer was a total failure. ( Asking an amount of 4x the budget of our client ! ) → We learned Working day and night, we quickly made a name. At the height of the cooperation, we made visionary & futuristic visualisations & videos. ( It looks very retro now ! ) → Honouring the brand name: SUPERNOVA studio’s Yet all good things come to an end. Five captains on one ship, doesn’t work. Just like a real Supernova: → The star collapsed Into multiple entities. My entity split into two stars: 1) a BLACK HOLE of CURIOSITY 2) a NEUTRON STAR of INSPIRATION 💥 Inspire & be inspired 💥 <<< >>> I’m Remko Click my name + follow + 🔔 👇 👇 PS. This post was created due to comments by the two legends Pascal Hippmann 🧠 🐺 & Antonio de Jesus I promised a SUPERNOVA scale post. And although probably not what they expected, I always deliver on my promises.

Innovation marketing for high-end market, with the mission of transforming the marketing and communications of heritage and modern brands into assets that generate growth | Supporter of the culture of modern business
"A curated view of where innovation is happening in marketing today, why it matters, and how it is transforming modern business". --- # 417 TECH, United Kingdom Parametric structures. Every day, we live in a world that offers us unexpected visions of the future, a place where creativity and technology intertwine in fascinating ways. It is incredible to observe how new opportunities and innovations emerge through cross-pollination among different sectors. This synergy is what I have long advocated in my business vision: the convergence of diverse disciplines not only enriches our way of thinking but also fuels unique and revolutionary solutions. The UK-based studio Zaha Hadid Architects has collaborated with software developer Epic Games to create a parametric-style version of London within the popular video game Fortnite. Players are placed on a creator-designed island along London’s waterfront, showcasing the firm's signature curved architecture. Players can design their own parametric structures using pre-designed modules, constructing buildings near iconic landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral and Tate Modern. This multiplayer game encourages exploration of urban development and community engagement, inviting players to create walkable spaces with sustainable, mixed-use buildings. 🙌 What’s your take? 👉 More content on our website b-f-t-m.com/DRUMROLL Subscribe to the weekly newsletter. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write me privately. Allow us to reintroduce ourselves. We're Reztark Design Studio. We consider ourselves lucky to do what we do every day, where our personal passions become blurred by the work we do. Because we all didn’t just fall into design, we do it because it is a part of us. Design moves us. It’s why we get out of bed every day — to explore, to create, to solve problems. It moves us to care. It moves us to action. Every move we make matters. At Reztark Design Studio, we start by asking the hard questions, tapping into our collaborative team of talented professionals, and pushing for solutions that move everyone forward. This rebrand is the result of our team’s willingness to ask “why”, to define who we are, and determine where we are going. What we do is ever evolving, but our goal to create spaces, places, experiences, and opportunities for genuine human connections hasn’t changed since 2006. Thank you for joining us on this journey of evolution and growth. Together, let's continue to ask what’s possible and create connections that truly matter. Here's to the next chapter! www.reztark.com
