Celon Monthly Market Spotlight - Food The food industry is a fast-paced environment and you need solutions that are flexible, reliable and right first time. Food packaging also comes under intense scrutiny as we all strive to reduce single use plastic and our packing waste in general, increasing the demand for green packaging. Eco-Friendly Shrink Bands are revolutionizing food marketing packaging by providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly option for brands looking to reduce their carbon footprint. 🌍 What are shrink bands?: Celon Bands are a secondary seal that goes over the primary closure, such as a metal or plastic cap. These shrink bands are made from cellulose and are contained in a preservative solution until application. Once applied, they give your package a tamper-resistant seal to help make your product secure. How to use: Celon Shrink Bands are different than PVC Shrink Bands because they are hand-applied. They require no machinery nor heat gun, yet still provide that tamper-resistant seal. Celon Bands are applied wet and shrink to the container naturally. Simply apply, and let it dry! Celon shrink bands are not only biodegradable, but they are also compostable, making them the perfect choice for companies looking to align with consumer demand for more sustainable packaging solutions. 🌱 Plus, they offer the same level of protection and security as traditional shrink bands, ensuring your products stay fresh and safe during transit and on the shelf. ✨ Learn more and request a quote here: https://hubs.la/Q02sjK9D0 #EcoFriendlyPackaging #SustainableSolutions #CelonShrinkBands #FoodMarketing #Packaging #FoodPackaging #CelonBands #Celon🌿

I appreciate the intention behind this food waste reduction initiative and the associated discount, FRESHCO, LTD. Selling produce that is close to becoming overripe or going bad at a discount instead of disposing of it is absolutely the right thing to do. But, can you do something about the additional plastic bag? Like maybe putting a sticker or tag on the plastic mesh avocado sac itself? The avocados 🥑 are already well-protected by their skins. So, all the plastic is about is marketing. But I'm sure that the creative people at your company could come up with another way to market these discounted items without adding to the large volume of plastic at your (and other) grocery stores. Thanks and I'll be watching. #Produce #Discounts #FoodWaste #FreshCo #Plastic #PlasticPollution #Reduce #Waste #Packaging #RandomMusings

As we strive towards a greener future, innovations in packaging play a crucial role, just like BMG’s paperboard prepared meal tray that can be top sealed. Why is this such a big deal? 1. 90% Less Plastic Usage: Traditional meal trays often rely heavily on plastic materials. By utilizing paperboard and eliminating the need for additional plastic layers, we're achieving a remarkable 90% reduction in plastic usage, significantly reducing our environmental footprint. 2. Consumer Convenience: Not only is this packaging solution eco-friendly, but it also offers practical benefits for consumers. Top sealing ensures food freshness and minimizes spills, enhancing the overall dining experience. 3. Industry Leadership: By embracing innovative packaging solutions, companies can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and lead the way towards a more environmentally conscious future. This development sets a new standard for the industry to follow. #SustainablePackaging #Innovation #EnvironmentalResponsibility

🫒 "Let's buy the olive oil in the plastic bottle because it's cheaper." Not a wise choice. 🍶 Olive oil, a staple in countless recipes, boasts fruity and peppery flavors, lending versatility to many cuisines. However, the packaging dilemma arises with options ranging from glass to metal to plastic. ♻️ While trendy brands opt for plastic-squeeze-bottle packaging, concerns about PFAS and microplastics linger, impacting both taste and safety. 📈 Studies suggest that plastic containers, particularly those made with polyethylene, may accelerate oxidation and reduce antioxidant levels. ✅ Despite these risks, professional kitchens often utilize plastic containers for convenience. However, proper storage—away from heat and light—can mitigate degradation. ☝️ Consider long-term storage in glass or metal containers and short-term decanting into plastic for ease of use. 🍎 The whole idea of consuming olive oil is for health reasons, so let's not let packaging affect our end objective of doing so. 🌿 Choose wisely to preserve both the quality and safety of your olive oil. #OliveOil #FoodSafety #PlasticPackagingAwareness #Sustainability #Health 🌿🛢️ #marvinTechAdvocate I am Mar Vin Foo 🌿, a specialized consultant in energy, both upstream and downstream with a focus on AI. Thank you for being healthy and sustainable without forgetting that packaging matters. P.S: My better half has always chosen the olive oil in a glass bottle years ago. Hmm, some of the healthy and sustainable folks are really hidden in plain sight. Source: https://lnkd.in/geYfj6ps

Selecting compostable packaging helps to enhance a brand's existing image, attracts new, environmentally-conscious consumers, and expands the brand's overall reach. Additionally, by diverting packaging from landfills, compostable bags help reduce overall waste. However, effective composting requires specific facilities or home composting units, which are not available in all areas. As a result, compostable bags may end up in the waste stream, compromising their decomposition benefits. Therefore, brands must ensure that customized coffee bags are compostable in their local area. In addition to this, consumer awareness is crucial, as mishandling could damage a brand's reputation. #specialitycoffee #coffeetime #coffeebag #coffeepackaging #packagingdesign #coffeeshop #coffeeroasters #roastedcoffee #freshcoffee #coffeepeople

Innovative packaging for California olive ranch U.S. brand California Olive Ranch (COR) introduces a novel addition to its olive oil and avocado packaging: a lightweight, recyclable aluminium bottle, marking a differentiated move in the industry alongside its existing glass and bag-in-box options. It’s reported that this approach underscores COR’s commitment to sustainability and enhances pricing flexibility and product differentiation, offering new marketing avenues. With over two decades of experience in the edible oil segment, COR has strategically diversified its packaging options, distinguishing itself from competitors in a market where plastic containers under 750 ml dominate. It is hoped that this emphasis on sustainability and product range diversification bolsters COR’s position in the packaged olive oil market. What do you think?
