Big Apple Cleaners has been a mainstay in the Las Vegas hospitality industry since its founding in 1985. Over the years, the increased demand has maxed out the capabilities at its current location. The solution: a new location that will double Big Apple’s capacity. To furnish the new facility with the necessary equipment, Western Alliance Bank helped the company secure an SBA 504 loan plus a line of credit to provide additional working capital during the transition.

The situation would be relatively amusing if not an excellent demonstration of why brick & mortar retailers, of your state, are going out of business in favor of online eCommerce operations with exceptional customer service. "... It may be of interest to note that this is not the only time I had encountered problems with quality service, at Best Buy, over the past few years, specifically: shorthanded staff, and demonstrably incompetent and absent [store] management; I still think that the root-cause is a store manager problem... that said, after this extended misadventure, now I'm wondering if this is the new culture of the company. There was a lot of hope in 2020--by my circle of business consultants, and I, who are all customers of the enterprise--that the hiring of Ms. Corie Barry (image), as the CEO, replacing Mr. Hubert Joly, will raise the standards, not end-up with what we see here..."

I am not doing it. My Wife and I like to laugh, so when I saw that a favorite comedian was coming to Houston, I went online to buy tickets. The mid-level seat was $135/person. A little higher than I wanted to pay but okay. It was not until I went to check out that I said to myself, “Absolutely not!” The total cost upon checkout was $412.50. Excuse me? Tickets: $135 x 2 = $270 “Convenience fee:” $54 x 2 = $108 “Service fee on the convenience fee:” $3.50 x 2 = $7 “Parking fee:” $25 “Service fee on the parking fee:” $2.50 Total: $412.50 What in the world is a “convenience fee?” Convenient for who? And, to put a service fee on my convenience fee as well as my parking fee? These fees are part of a “change” in online ticket sales. The only person who welcomes change is a baby with a wet diaper. The very best business strategy I know is to give your customer “a little bit more than they expect.” I am getting a lot more than what I expected, but not in a good way. When your customers hear your prices, how do they react? What message do you think these “fees” are sending to the consumer? I am voting with a “hell no!” How easy is it to do business with your company?
