nd-of-life doulas can bridge the gap between the medical care hospice care offers and the additional, non-medical support families require. This support can range from managing everyday tasks to providing emotional comfort, ensuring families can focus on what truly matters. Addressing misconceptions, it's important to understand that doulas do not replace the family's role in caregiving but rather enhance and support the care provided by both families and hospice teams. Learn more in our new blog post.

It's no secret that bees hold a special place in my heart. These 'small but mighty' creatures were my inspiration when starting a nonprofit, Bee Mighty, over a decade ago, as our tiny son survived an extensive stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Recently, Forbes highlighted the parallel between bees' hard work for their hive and how organizations can integrate this mindset into their brand. Bees are Superpollinators, contributing a remarkable $14.6 billion to the U.S. economy annually by serving their ecosystem. They exemplify the importance of purpose-driven work. The article emphasizes the significance of a clear purpose for both organizations and their members. It's not just about going through the motions; a shared purpose enables teams to achieve greatness and navigate tough times together effectively. #CSR #purpose #CorporateSocialResponsibility #SocialImpact Explore the full Forbes article here: https://lnkd.in/gv3VSfyz

An important read worth a few moments of your day.
North Carolina continues to be one of the fastest-growing states in the nation. Building the state's first free-standing children's hospital will greatly reduce capacity issues across the board. UNC Children's Physician-in-Chief Stephanie Davis, MD, spoke to WRAL about the need for the new hospital. https://ow.ly/Bt8o50QAQKm

CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is an emergency procedure that consists of chest compressions and often times mouth to mouth ventilation to help save a life in the event that the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to provide blood to the brain and other vital organs. No one ever expects for these emergencies to occur, which is why it is important to plan ahead and learn CPR. Cardiac emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere, and every second counts. There are many ways to become certified in CPR and gain confidence to help during a cardiac emergency. American Red Cross, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, offers CPR and first aid training courses both online and in person. By visiting their website, buff.ly/2x7qlmt, you can search your location to find Adult, Child, and Infant courses that will help you become prepared to better handle a cardiac emergency. The work our ICN transport team has done in the last 10 years has taken this program to another level.
It began as just two beds added to an adult intensive care unit. Now, 50 years later, the 30-bed Intensive Care Nursery within the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center has become a guiding light for families during their hardest moments. https://lnkd.in/e3Y8kVfj

"Milestones. As parents, we mark and celebrate them. From first steps, to first words, to first days at school. Parents of children born prematurely will have ‘extra firsts’ or ‘additional milestones’; the first hold, first nappy change, first day in a cot or first day without oxygen or a feeding tube. These first milestones shape a neonatal journey and as we celebrate a big milestone for The Smallest Things." 💜 I’ve been reflecting on 10 years of The Smallest Things and how interwoven milestones and anniversaries are to the after NICU journey. https://lnkd.in/e8dK_NzJ

Such an intelligent and impactful way to utilize VR.
🌟We're excited to introduce our latest scenario: Trent Jensen, designed by our nurse educators for learners and trainees to step into the shoes of a nurse caring for a pediatric patient living with cystic fibrosis. In this scenario, they'll navigate the complexities of providing both respiratory interventions and developmentally appropriate care for a school-aged child. It's an opportunity to enhance skills and deepen understanding of managing chronic illnesses in pediatric patients. Learn more about our release: https://bit.ly/3OygQoV
