I recently have had a decent amount of Sr. leaders who appreciated my cold calls saying " I appreciate you showing the effort to give me a call and not the standard email that you send to a bunch of people". I also have seen and received negative comments from leaders saying they hate cold calls and "you have nothing better to do with your time than call me and waste my time" and hang right up. It is the caller's responsibility to ensure they are contacting the right person and clearly state the purpose of their call (as a recruiter I have had individuals try and sell me cyber security products which clearly I am the wrong person to be calling). What are your thoughts on cold calls? Sales roles. What can I say? Some people love them. Some people hate them. But we all need them. Most people don't know that my first job out of the military was at Enterprise Rent a Car, in sales, as a manager in training. Now, I lean into the technical side of cybersecurity more than anything. But it was a great place to learn how to talk to people and find a solution to their problem. Tandem Cyber Solutions has an Independent Sales Rep program which means you too can learn to sell.
