Q: Where are you from?
A: I'm from Mesa, Arizona.
Q: What is your role within the Cardinals organization and how long have you been in this role?
A: I am a Seasonal Athletic Trainer, and this is my first year in this position.
Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job?
A: The most rewarding part of the job is helping an athlete return to play following an injury because they get to go back to doing what they love.
Q: Why is Latino Heritage Month important to you?
A: It is an opportunity to highlight our history, traditions, and achievements. It's a chance to share and promote awareness of our contributions to society including food, fashion, music, art, literature, dance, sports, and more.
Q: Why is diversity/representation important in the workplace?
A: A diverse workplace brings a wide variety of experiences, skills, and perspectives together to solve problems and close gaps. Diversity increases creativity and strategic thinking because everyone has a different background and level of knowledge. It also allows for stronger relationships and connections to form based on shared experiences and understanding of one’s differences.
Q: What advice would you give young Latino professionals who are looking to break into the sports industry?
A: It's significant to realize that the diversity and cultural experiences that one brings are valuable. Do not be afraid to stand out and be different, to be your true authentic self because we bring a unique perspective to the table.
