We are hosting the TSMO event today at Heenway Hall, Room 211, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. TSMO is a set of strategies that focus on operational improvements that can maintain and even restore the performance of the existing transportation system before extra capacity is needed. Some Highlights of the event include: 1. Why TSMO and why does it matter to state, regional, and local agencies? 2. Demonstrate how TSMO has evolved, supported by ITS, and continues to evolve from a traditional operations and maintenance mindset. 3. Share how institutional and organizational processes help mainstream and support proactive and resilient operations practices. 4. Promote the use of innovative data sources, like crowdsourcing, and how it can be leveraged to advance strategic and tactical project development and system performance outcomes. 5. It was a privilege to showcase the progress and potential of our Demand Management and Prediction tool alongside my colleague, Christos Vasilakis in #Ljubliana for the SUNRISE Project. Such tools are crucial for managing critical infrastructures across various sectors. Through the collaborative efforts with our partners, we've advanced in predicting demand for water and energy consumption, passenger flow in transportation systems, and crucially, in the healthcare sector for forecasting the demand for drugs, patient care, and more. Ultimately, these advancements pave the way for data-driven decisions that contribute to economic resilience and societal stability among other significant benefits. RII recently participated in the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) conference held in Kansas City, Missouri.
