If you have the power to mandate a return to the office, remember this: Disabilities do not stop when your employees get to the front door. It's important to prioritize the needs of all employees when making decisions about returning to the office. I am proud to work with companies like HubSpot who prioritize their employees' needs and provide them with the flexibility to choose which work method works best for them. This kind of flexibility and understanding can make a significant difference in the lives of employees with disabilities. Let's continue to prioritize empathy and understanding in the workplace, especially during these challenging times. #disabilityrights #workplaceequality #empathy #flexibility

By making people's disabilities one of their key assets on the job market, Troublegang not only improves careers and work environments but also has won a well-deserved SozialMarie prize. 👏 👉Through physical testing of jobs and workplace accessibility the Troublegang members consult employers on how to improve the physical accessibility of their workplace (surfaces, entrances, toilets, hardware, software) for different types of disabilities. ✅ The innovative approach of O KROK creates perspectives so that people with disabilities are not - as is often the case - limited to minimum wage jobs or employment in social organizations.

Did you know that the Americans with Disabilities Act can allow you to work from home? As of 1999 (throwback!), it was determined that the ADA gives workers with disabilities the right to work from home as a reasonable accommodation. That was a long while back — but perhaps you recall an event from a few years ago that expanded many workplace capabilities for supporting remote work? Reasonable accommodation means any change in the work environment or in the way things are customarily done that enables an individual with a disability to hold a job; basically, accommodations are reasonable if they do not put an undue burden on the workplace. Now that many jobs had no choice but to go remote during pandemic times, we know many occupations have the technological capability to be done remotely, at least partially. So, as a reminder… If you work for a company with more than 15 employees and you have a disability that can impact your ability to commute to a work site every day, you could be eligible for telework accommodations under the ADA. #PuzzleHR #TopTrendsInHR #Compliance #EmploymentLaw #Policy #Talent #Benefits #ADA #Accommodations #WFH #RemoteWork #Flexibility

#Commuting is challenging for everyone, but for people with disabilities, the experience can be even more difficult due to subtle behaviors from fellow passengers. Small actions from other commuters can make public transportation more inclusive and accessible. Here are some easy ways you can help: - Offer assistance when you notice a disabled passenger needing help. - Be mindful of sensory overload by keeping noise levels low and avoiding strong smells like food. - Leave accessible seating available for those who need it. - Treat disabled passengers with respectby sitting next to them and engaging respectfully. By being more aware of our actions, we can all contribute to a more inclusive commuting experience. To learn more about the impact of commuter interactions on people with disabilities, check out this insightful study #TRATSEDI conducted on the Commuter-to-Commuter interaction’s impact on travel satisfaction and wellbeing for commuters with disabilities: https://lnkd.in/dhnyQ6tx #Inclusion #Commuting #Mobility #PublicTransport #Transportation #Research #Disability

"Dear Community” As we strive towards building more inclusive workplaces, it's crucial to prioritize accessibility for people with disabilities. Accessibility isn't just a legal requirement; it's a fundamental aspect of creating an environment where everyone can thrive. From physical accommodations to digital accessibility, there are countless ways we can ensure that our workplaces are welcoming and supportive for all individuals. Simple measures like providing wheelchair ramps, ergonomic furniture, and assistive technologies can make a world of difference. Moreover, let's not overlook the importance of fostering a culture of understanding and empathy. By promoting awareness and education about different types of disabilities, we can break down stigmas and build stronger, more inclusive teams. As we embrace diversity in all its forms, let's remember that accessibility is not just a checkbox—it's a commitment to creating spaces where every person, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to succeed. Let's work together to make accessibility a priority in our workplaces and beyond. #AccessibilityMatters #InclusiveWorkplaces #Empowerment #DiversityandInclusion"
