Did you know 88% of core memories are created in August and September? That's not a real statistic, but it definitely FEELS accurate. Think back on your sporting career, regardless of the level you played at, and more likely than not you'll be thinking of those moments of agony and ecstasy we go through in the winter sporting finals. Me? I think about my footy club's 5+ losing grand finals. REALLY COOL! 🙃 But there are plenty more happy memories to drown those ones out. Last weekend we kicked off grand final season at Streamer with six deciders in the Essendon District Football League, another two in the Associated & Catholic Colleges of WA's netball programs and Perth RedStar Football Club clinching a third straight NPL Women's Premiership 🏆 This week there's another five grand finals out of AFL Cairns and the ACC soccer programs come to a head as well, plus Olympic Kingsway Sports Club have a chance to take out the men's NPL. It's such a massive time of year and so rewarding to be able to contribute in some way to milestone moments in so many people's lives. It's not too late to get your grand finals streamed either, flick me a DM and I can get the process started ✉ For brands, this is also a premium time to get onboard and support these programs, aligning with the memories that will last a lifetime and an audience who are super engaged and invested. WELCOME TO CORE MEMORY SZN!!! 💥 #sportsbroadcast #sportsstreaming #sportsmarketing #localsport #communitysport #sportsbusiness

Celebrating Team Spirit and Growth: A Day at the BRHA West League Under 8s What an exhilarating day it has been for the young athletes of the BRHA West League Under 8s! Today marked a significant milestone for our combined teams – the Lion Cubs, Predators, and Knights. Displaying their finest performance to date, each player demonstrated remarkable improvement since their initial games, showcasing the true spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. Despite the challenge of being three separate teams that only unite on game days, these young stars have transcended boundaries to form lasting partnerships and friendships. Their dedication and camaraderie were evident from the very first puck drop to the final whistle, a testament to their growing synergy and mutual support. Adding an exciting twist to the day, we equipped our players with GoPros, capturing the action from their unique perspectives. The footage promises to offer an intimate glimpse into the game, allowing us to relive the moments through the eyes of our players. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the parents who have been the backbone of this journey, ensuring their children could participate and thrive. Your commitment has not only made these game days possible but has also contributed to the nurturing environment that allows our sport to flourish. As we approach the end of the season, with just one more day left for our combined team, we look forward to the future with optimism. The prospect of each team having its own Under 8s squad next season is a thrilling development for the sport's growth. The bonds formed this season will endure, particularly for those who will continue playing in the same Ice Teams. For those interested in joining the Lion Cubs for the 2024/25 season, we invite you to attend one of our training sessions or reach out via email info@lionsihc.co.uk or direct message. We're excited to expand our offerings to include league games for players ranging from under 8s to 16s next season. At a time when rugby union is struggling in North America, and despite not having the Eagles qualifying for the RWC23, Major League Rugby is attracting many former rugby icons, such as Matt Giteau, to name but one. Recently, Stade Toulousain, one of Europe's most prestigious clubs, joined forces with the Utah Warriors, striking a major blow on the American Rugby Union (XV) market. However, it is Rugby League (XIII) that is about to conquer the American market. This type of rugby, often described as more spectacular and rougher, is about to set foot in the United States. The economic strategy behind this move is questionable and highly risky... But "high-risk = high-reward". I can't wait to see if Rugby League (XIII) can make it on the American market before Rugby Union (XV) rugby does. Let's give it a try. --------------------- French version available online --------------------- Selective by passion #sponsorship #sports #marketing

3 fixture insights you'll thank us for at the end of October. Do not plan autumn's live sport in your venue until you've cracked through this 👇 📈 𝐑𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐲 𝐈𝐧 𝐑𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 After South Africa v New Zealand emerged as the most searched-for-fixture in August, their September rematch proved it was no fluke, coming in second for last month. This trend bodes very well for TNT Sports venues as the Autumn Nations Series rolls back into town. For all the doom and gloom that often surrounds it, international rugby union has never been in a better place, with the last few years producing incredible matches, iconic moments and some positively hissing rivalries. Argentina, England, France, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa are impossible to split right now - factor in a capricious Scotland side plus a resurgent Italy and we have an abundance of the tight, ferocious, competitive fixtures that pack out pubs coming up. England v New Zealand kicks off a month of action on the 2nd November, now’s the time to get your plans in place, start talking to customers about it and get those crucial pre-bookings in. 👊 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐳 - 𝐀 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐭 A theme we talked about in last month’s UK analysis was the consistency with which big US boxing bouts emerge as the biggest missed opportunities. That trend continued in September with Canelo Alvarez’s latest bout driving significant value for the 7 venues who purchased and advertised it on FANZO. Digging deeper (as far back as our detailed fixture data goes), the Mexican great’s last 5 fights each averaged just shy of 2000 searches for a local venue on FANZO, being funnelled into fewer than 10 UK bars showing them. Yes, they’re late-night fights. Yes, there’s a PPV cost. But if you already have the means to stay open, no other name in sport offers such consistent value in terms of fan interest for the venues that do show Canelo’s bouts. 🇦🇺 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 If the AFL Grand Final popping up second in our missed opportunities piqued your interest, the wider top ten should make fascinating reading. 6 of the 10 biggest opportunities for UK venues were AFL (Aussie Rules) or NRL (Rugby League) fixtures as Australia’s two biggest winter codes reach a crescendo each September. Bloody good insight but not something pubs can act on for another 11 months now, surely? Not so fast. This weekend’s NRL Grand Final offers one last opportunity to tap into any local ex-pat communities and generate some bonus trade on Saturday morning. And if you’re a venue attached to a hostel in a tourist hotspot, it’s got ‘free shot at the posts’ written all over it. --- Want a deeper dive into September's fixture data? Make sure you follow Pete Starr, he'll be posting some punchy analysis on the stories that emerged from this data set complete with practical implications for running sport in your venue, in the coming weeks.

Throwback to 2020 when we were promised a full-sized grass sports pitch and a space for the local boxing club when Dublin City Councillors agreed to sell-off two parcels of land at St. Teresa’s Gardens. The plan was for Hines to construct a full-sized GAA pitch for Gaelic football and hurling, which would also have been used for soccer and rugby. Although there are still plans to build a pitch, we cannot keep waiting for years and years – our kids need sporting facilities now. There are already 8,500 kids without a pitch and with the new housing developments, that number will just continue to grow. https://lnkd.in/eHsNr9Kq

This is HUGE news! As much as I believe that the move to professionalization is needed to move the sport forward, the lack of clubs within certain areas/regions is concerning. As someone who is involved in netball in Scotland, I fear this could have huge implications. Not only at an elite level, but particularly at grassroots, through player pathways, and for umpires and coaches. I am excited to see what the new era of netball brings, however I do hope there are plans in the near future to ensure that the Super League is accessible for and representative of the whole of the UK (including Scotland, NI, the South West, etc). #NetballSuperLeague #SportDevelopment
Ready to embark on a new era of transformational change 💪 Following a robust tender process over the past eight months, we’re excited to confirm the eight successful teams set to compete in the relaunched Netball Super League from 2025: 🏐 Birmingham Panthers, LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons, Leeds Rhinos, London Mavericks, London Pulse Netball Super League Team, Loughborough Lightning [Loughborough Sport], Manchester Thunder and Nottingham Forest Netball [Nottingham Forest Football Club] 🏐 The eight clubs have been selected due to their ability to deliver the on and off court advancements needed to raise the standards of the league. With powerful new ownership and investment models coming into the league, the new-look competition will be built on stronger foundations as it embarks on a 10-year journey to full professionalisation. For the upcoming season, 50% of games will be played at major arenas across the country, whilst all games will be available to watch from home. Hear more from NSL Managing Director Claire Nelson below on today’s exciting announcement. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e3exXvZn #Netball #NetballSuperLeague #League #Sports #NewEra
