One of my favourite events of the year at Rakuten.ca. In today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, it's easy to get caught up in metrics, deadlines, and deliverables. But let's not forget the most crucial element of any successful organization: the people.
Humanizing your team isn't just a nice-to-have; it's a must-have. Here's why:
Boosts Morale and Engagement: When team members feel seen and valued as individuals, their motivation and engagement levels soar. They’re more likely to go the extra mile and contribute their best work.
Fosters Innovation: A culture that celebrates diverse perspectives and encourages open communication leads to creative problem-solving and innovation. When people feel safe to express their ideas, magic happens.
Builds Trust and Loyalty: Trust is the foundation of any strong team. By showing genuine care and empathy, leaders can build lasting relationships that withstand challenges and change.
Enhances Collaboration: Humanized teams are more cohesive. When people understand and respect each other’s strengths and weaknesses, collaboration becomes seamless and more effective.
Improves Well-being: A supportive and understanding work environment contributes to the overall well-being of team members. This not only reduces stress but also promotes a healthier work-life balance.
Remember, at the heart of every successful project, every innovative idea, and every milestone achieved, are people. Let’s make sure we’re not just managing teams, but truly leading and humanizing them.

Yesterday, our team AND their families gathered at Earl Bales Park for what we like to call a Day-O-Fun!
This annual event is one of our favourites of the year as we not only get to bond as a team, but we get to know their families as well.
Running your own business is taking responsibility for your product and your people. It's why we're passionate supporters of BLD Southeast (thanks for the shout out!).

What do I find most exciting about the food as medicine movement?
It's the fact that food as medicine means different things to different people.
I am learning that many in the space actually view that as a negative. I don't see it that way at all. I see it as a tremendous opportunity. The diversity of interpretation allows us to create impactful programs that resonate on multiple levels, tailoring solutions to meet the unique needs of various stakeholders and communities.
For some, food as medicine might be a pathway to managing chronic conditions through personalized nutrition plans. For others, it could mean fostering community wellness by integrating culturally relevant foods into meal programs or promoting preventive health measures to reduce future healthcare needs.
Another powerful example is addressing food security. By ensuring access to nutritious, affordable food, we can support individuals and families in building healthier lives, reducing the burden of diet-related diseases, and enhancing overall community resilience.
This multifaceted approach is what makes the space so dynamic and full of potential. Each interpretation and application of food as medicine offers a unique opportunity to improve health outcomes and enhance well-being.
By acknowledging and embracing these different perspectives, we can forge diverse partnerships and develop innovative strategies that harness the full potential of food as medicine. It's these partnerships that will create a healthier, more vibrant future for everyone.
Are you a food and beverage brand looking to get involved? Let’s schedule some time to talk.
I’d love to explore how we can create impactful programs and strategic partnerships that make a difference. 🍏🤝

Each food items in a typical U.S. meal has traveled an average of 1,500 miles....If every U.S. citizen ate just one meal a week (any meal) composed of locally and organically raised meats and produce we would reduce our country's oil consumption by over 1.1 million barrels of oil every week.
Do you know where your food comes from?
The farmers in our community provide the crops, fruits, and vegetables that make up our produce section. Farms and ranches small and large are the backbones of our economy. And they need your support! Depending on how we spend them, our food dollars can either go to support a food industry devoted to quantity and convenience and “value” or they can nourish a food chain organized around values—values like quality and health. Yes, shopping this way takes more money and effort, but as soon you begin to treat that expenditure not just as shopping but also as a kind of vote—a vote for health & our countries well being in the largest sense.

"Don't just give your audience content, inspire them" was one of the key lessons that really stuck when in my learning journey towards becoming a coach and speaker.
You can have the best content and ideas in the world, but if your audience isn't inspired to apply, you've just given them "stuff".
Like Dale, our specially hand picked facilitators and coaches at EQ Strategist need to meet specific criteria:
1️⃣ They need to be walking role models of the stuff they teach. People don't do what you say, they do what you do.
2️⃣ They need to be passionate about our mission - of making a difference to the lives of those who honour us with their most precious asset - their time. And our Core Values - Commitment, Authenticity, Results, Passion and Excellence.
3️⃣ They need to be exemplary models of exceptional ENERGY and passion for their craft.
4️⃣ They need to be exceptional facilitators of accelerated learning, to create value above and beyond what we promise and to be able to inspire others.
Thanks Dale White for being a wonderful ambassador of team @EQ Strategist! #inspirationaltraining#modelexcellence
