🐱🐶💙 Happy #GlobalRecyclingDay! What could you be recycling to help our animals at Bath Cats & Dogs Home (RSPCA Bath & District Branch)? You may be surprised! • Blankets and towels. These are really useful in the cattery and kennels (as modelled by Parsley looking cosy with his donated blankets here). We can’t take duvets or pillows sorry, they're tricky to wash and get messy if ripped. • Office items. If you run an office or business printer, you can have a collection box from #RecycleForCharity which donates to us for every recycled cartridge. And if you are having an office clear out, take a look at #AGoodThingUK who match businesses with equipment to charities who can claim it. • Pre-loved clothes and accessories. Perhaps you’ve grown out of it, or out of love with it, but you think someone else would wear it? Then either drop it in to one of our five Charity Shops, or add onto eBay as a charity listing. • Pet items. We welcome new and nearly-new pet items. Things that would be useful include dog harnesses, pet beds and blankets, cat scratching posts, toys and coats. Apart from the printer cartridges, all other items can be donated to our Charity Shops or to our rehoming centre at Claverton Down. Thank you for recycling with us!🙏 #recycling #globalrecyclingday #sustainablebusiness #preloved #charitysupport

helping you create organic, recycled and sustainable merchandise that supports your brand and allows you to stand out in a crowded market
I just have to share this as it makes me SO HAPPY! I use a charity called 'A Good Thing' (link in comments) who link up companies like myself or anyone else who has product, to charities that can use unwanted items. It's genius. I have about 250 pens branded Firefly Merchandise which I've had sitting round for a long time so I figured this would be a great donation. I uploaded on Friday and this morning, I've received this: "Hi there, Please could we have 50 pens? We're a small charity in Reading that provides horticultural therapy (using gardening to improve mental health and wellbeing) to people with mental health issues, learning difficulties and physical disabilities. We're committed to sustainaibility at our garden, e.g. turning our garden waste into lots of lovely compost, not using chemicals. Our client gardeners would make use of your pens when working on their journals, where they keep a record of their achievements at the garden, our school groups in the amazing garden-themed arts and crafts they produce, and we'd use them for admin. And we'd collect them from you by bike! Thanks, Siân" I highly recommend using this charity if you have old stock which might be merch or even old office furniture. It's a great way to help someone local and get your products recycled. #charitydonation #recycling #supportlocal #donation #QueenOfMerch #globalrecylcingday

Happy Boxing Day! 🥳 We hope you had a fantastic Christmas filled with joy, laughter, and, of course, fabulous gifts! Now that the festivities are winding down, it's time to tackle the aftermath. Here are some tips on handling the excess rubbish from presents and celebrations. Let's keep our communities clean and green! - Dispose Responsibly: Flatten those cardboard boxes and break down packaging materials. - Bin It Right: Make sure your waste is sorted correctly. Separate recyclables from general waste to make the disposal process smoother and more environmentally friendly. - Community Cleanup: Coordinate with your neighbours for a post-Christmas cleanup. A united effort makes the task more enjoyable and helps build a stronger sense of community. - Christmas Tree Recycling: If you had a real Christmas tree, check for a local tree recycling program. Many places turn them into mulch or compost. - Donate Unwanted Items: If you received gifts you don't need, consider donating them to charity. 'Tis the season of giving, after all! - Check Local Pickup Services: Some areas offer special pickups for bulky items. Check with your local council or waste management service for details on when and how to arrange this service. Wishing you all a fantastic Boxing Day and a wonderful year ahead! #BoxingDay #HappyHolidays

When decluttering and getting organized, we all feel good when we donate things we no longer like, need, or use. It can be easy, however, to use "donation" as a crutch or an excuse not to toss something that *should* be tossed. I am talking about items that are too worn, tattered, broken, and unusable. Here is what I know for sure: you are not a bad person, or not environmentally conscious if you toss something that fits a category above. Let things go. Lighten your life. And the next time you purchase or bring something in, be more discerning so you can reduce waste and not end up in the same situation again. 💡

Everyone has a different tolerance for kitchen clutter. Whether you easily declutter or struggle to let go, chances are you have too many of these items: 🔘 Cookbooks you never read: Donate them or organize a cookbook swap with friends. 🔘 Old dish cloths: Retire them to the "rag" section, toss them, or donate to an animal shelter. 🔘 Food containers: Recycle mismatched pieces and repurpose stained ones for storage. 🔘 Takeout menus: Everything is online. Use them for messy projects and then toss them. 🔘 Tote bags: Stop accumulating them. Use them around the house or donate to shelters and food banks. Ready to declutter and organize your home?
