Looking for some fun and educational activities to do with your kids while they're out of school? Here are five ideas to keep them engaged and entertained: Nature scavenger hunt: Head to a local park or nature reserve and challenge your kids to find different items like leaves, rocks, or flowers. This is a great way to get some fresh air and explore the outdoors together. Cooking/baking together: Spend some time in the kitchen with your little ones and whip up some delicious treats. Let them help measure ingredients, mix batter, and decorate cookies. Not only is this a fun activity, but it's also a great learning experience for them. Arts and crafts: Get creative with your kids by doing some arts and crafts projects together. You can make homemade cards, paint a picture, or even create your own DIY decorations for their room. This is a great way for them to express themselves and have fun. Storytime: Spend some quality time reading with your kids. Whether you read to them or they read to you, this is a great bonding activity that also helps improve their literacy skills. You can even act out the story or make up your own endings together. STEM activities: Introduce your kids to the world of science, technology, engineering, and math with some hands-on STEM activities. You can build a simple robot out of household items, conduct a fun science experiment, or even create your own mini-engineering project. This is a great way to spark their curiosity and love for learning. Midland ISD goes LEGO for a smarter future 🚀 Let’s get serious about education by integrating LEGO robotics into math and science classrooms. Midland ISD is taking a bold step forward by bringing this hands-on, interactive learning experience to elementary students. This isn’t just about building robots; it’s about crafting a new generation skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. 🟠 Integrated Learning: By embedding LEGO robotics into the core curriculum, students gain practical applications for what they learn in math and science. 🟠 Life Skills: Students develop valuable skills that go far beyond the classroom—think of it as preparing them for life, not just exams. 🟠 STEM for Kids: Why wait until high school to start with STEM? Introducing these concepts early on sets a solid foundation for future success in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This initiative aligns with a global push to incorporate STEM education early in childhood. It’s time to rethink how we prepare our young minds for the challenges of tomorrow. Now, here’s a thought—how can traditional education models keep up with such innovative programs? 🤔 #EducationRevolution #STEM #FutureOfLearning #LEGO #MidlandISD #InnovationInEducation 🧐

Check out what SAE is doing in K-12 classrooms with #AWIM!
We are thrilled to announce our impact in Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD). This spring, 14,000 K-2 students in DPSCD got to experience SAE's A World In Motion® (AWIM®) STEM education program! Before bringing it to the classrooms, SAE's #AWIM team conducted several trainings for DPSCD educators. Nearly 100 teachers learned how to teach AWIM challenges that were written into their curriculum by the district including, Rolling Things, Making Music, and Engineering Inspired by Nature. Special thank you to Bosch, Cummins Inc., Ford Motor Company, General Motors and American Honda Motor Company, Inc. for their generous collaboration in supporting this initiative and coming together to provide powerful STEM learning experiences for local students for years to come!
