💥Exciting news: FINCA Uganda Limited (MDI) is now part of our mission! Despite the misconception that lending to women carries higher risks, female-led businesses are as profitable as male-led businesses and contribute significantly to women's empowerment and positive social impact. On average, women reinvest up to 90% of their income in education, health, and nutrition for their families and communities, compared to 40% for men. 💡The partnership with FINCA is a notch higher into our gender-lens investing mechanisms; by improving access to capital for female-led businesses through initiatives such as the Women in Agriculture Impact Investment (WAI) Facility, Agricultural Apprentice Incubator (AAI), and Cente Ya Kikazi (CYK). These programs address the "missing middle" while closing skills gaps through tailored pre/post-investment readiness advisory. #Ethiopia's "her time to grow" initiative empowers female entrepreneurs amid challenges iDE (International Development Enterprises) (iDE) launched the "Her Time To Grow" (HTTG) initiative in 2022 to improve agricultural resilience, financial security, and opportunities for female entrepreneurs in Ethiopia, #Ghana, and #Zambia. The project has already assisted over 25,000 women. Menen Abate, the HTTG project manager for iDE Ethiopia, describes the project's goal as enhancing "economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive growth for women in #Ethiopia." The initiative provides financial literacy training, business support, and establishes Farm Business Advisors to connect women with sustainable markets and technical training. The project #employs a Human Centered Design approach, engaging directly with #female #entrepreneurs to identify their challenges. This has led to the development of targeted solutions, such as setting up childcare centers to address the difficulty women face in managing both motherhood and business responsibilities. https://lnkd.in/e9QZewHJ

AGRA, Africa's leading Food Systems Institution, has reinvigorated its 𝘝𝘈𝘓𝘜𝘌4𝘏𝘌𝘙 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 to create more wealth for women in agribusiness. In partnership with the Fresh Produce Consortium of Kenya (FPC Kenya), AGRA recently convened over 300 women in agribusiness in Nairobi to explore opportunities for support and empowerment. Prof. Hamadi Boga, AGRA's Vice President of Programs Delivery, emphasized the need for strong inclusive policies and systems to support women's empowerment programs. AGRA's newly revitalized Gender Inclusive & Youth division aims to empower women through wealth creation via the VALUE4HER platform. Recent research by AGRA and CGIAR Gender Impact highlighted that women in food systems can do more than traditional roles, with potential to lead businesses and multiply their incomes, especially with support from other women. Nana Yaa Boakyewaa Amoah, AGRA's Director of Gender Inclusive and Youth, noted that while women's economic empowerment through entrepreneurship is well-established, collective action and women-to-women networks help overcome multiple barriers. The organization is actively partnering with women's networks to enhance impact and scale, with 60-70% of beneficiaries and Village-Based Advisors being women in several Kenyan counties. #WomenInAgribusiness #AGRAInitiative #VALUE4HER #GenderInclusion #AfricanAgriculture

Today, around 50,000 #women are benefiting from IFAD-funded projects currently implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Moldova. Investing in women benefits the society as a whole. Here are a few insights into how #IFAD is impacting the lives of #ruralwomen in two of its country portfolios: - In the Rural Resilient Project (RRP) in #Moldova, around 19,000 #women are supported by the project, representing over 50% of the beneficiaries reached out. This 8-year-long project under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, supported over 37,000 persons, including women entrepreneurs and women-led start-ups through funding and ad-hoc financial training to support their businesses. - In #Kyrgyzstan, over 30,000 #women are supported by the Access to Markets Project (ATMP). They represent over 33% of the 89,000 beneficiaries receiving services from the Project. ATMP is in its final months of activities and has incisively acted in the pastoral communities to raise incomes and impact rural economic growth. Specific activities to enhance women's roles and rights in rural communities have been funded, along with the promotion of the Gender Action Learning Systems. As such, the agenda for gender inclusion and justice, community leadership, leading towards transformative actions has been successfully promoted in rural Kyrgyzstan. #zimbabweaccounting WOMEN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND PROSPERITY!!!! Any economic development initiative that leaves women behind is bound to fail. Women are at the core and account for the most entrepreneurs in the African continent. They unfortunately are the most marginalized and financially vulnerable excluded. To improve health education financial inclusion requires the capacitation of women. There is need for deliberate initiatives that target women in particular. Legal experts accountants should be ready to assist these MSMES led by women. In close pursuit are the youths who also need capacitation by allowing them access to finance and skills hub to make them relevant in their communities and environments. Lastly our rural areas need to be looked at seriously if African countries are to speak of development
