Run72 is an annual community event to raise funds and awareness for men’s mental health. During the event, University of Canterbury students and members of the Ōtautahi Christchurch community take to the pavement around UC to run for 72 hours, ensuring that there is always at least one person running. The extraordinary effort was designed to draw attention to the fact that men made up 72% of suicides in Aotearoa New Zealand. Since the start of RUN72 in 2021, this statistic has risen to 76%, a clear sign that male suicide deserves more attention this year than ever before. This year, runners will be lapping the course from 4pm on Tuesday the 24 of September to 4pm Friday the 27th. Building on last year's success, funds raised this year will go towards boosting our support fund to $72,000, equating to 480 support sessions for UC students. Any additional funds raised will support our 2025 operations, allowing us to continue delivering high-quality events and initiatives. Finally, we plan to share a portion with like-minded charities across Aotearoa, helping to extend our impact beyond UC and Ōtautahi Christchurc For RUN72 - 2024, we want more people on the ground, we want more laps run, and we want to raise more awareness. Ultimately, we want what Aotearoa needs - to lower the statistic. Run72 is our way of helping NZ, we invite you to support us and participate. Centrepoint- Youth Homelessness My Centrepoint 10:10 in support of National homelessness day is complete, running 10Km a day for 10 days although I did start with the Congleton Half- marathon to kick me off. When I decided to undertake this challenge, I thought it would be easier than it proved to be, after all 10Km (6.2miles) is not that far when you have run several marathons and an Ultra-marathon. This is what I learnt, running everyday without rest and recovery days is really tough when you’re training for a marathon you have a plan that builds in rest and recovery and whilst on the day you have to run 26.2 miles you are trained, fueled, hydrated and start refreshed knowing that at the end of your run your going to take it easy for a few days. Yes, a short gentle shakeout run but lots of recovery. I have a much-improved appreciation and huge respect for people that take on real challenges like back-to-back marathons, I really don’t know how they do it. Most importantly we beat our fundraising target, 110% this morning as a Thank You to everyone who donated I completed another 10K a bonus run thank you, but we don’t have to stop I will commit to running another 10K for every additional £100 over our fundraising goal. = Keep giving and I have to keep running. With the winter months approaching Centrepoint need our support more than ever. https://lnkd.in/e5mVHqV8

Property Investor | Social Housing Investor | Accommodation Provider for Contractors and Corporate Clients
This is the question on everyone’s mind right now… Why are social housing investments becoming so popular? The housing landscape is shifting. 📈 There is an overwhelming demand for affordable, secure homes with a limited supply available. 🚫 Many local authorities are stretched thin, facing extensive waiting lists of vulnerable individuals needing safe accommodation. ⌛ In 2023, England saw the delivery of 63,605 affordable homes, while 1.21 million households remained on waiting lists for accessible housing options. 📊 Investing in social housing empowers local councils, housing associations, charities, and social care providers to deliver affordable, tailored housing options for vulnerable individuals in our communities. 💪 This crucial support helps bridge the gap between the housing shortage and growing waiting lists, providing secure homes where they’re most needed. 🤝 Want to learn more about our social housing opportunities? And we’re off…….. #July1000 Day 1. Ride 1 1000 miles to ride to raise funds for a #Podcast room here at Manchester Youth Zone To put in some form of context, the #TourDeFrance (raced by professionals) is around 2200 miles, and they have support cars and teams 😂. I’m riding half of that and it’s just me and my water bottle I'm doing this because I want to help the #YoungPeople in this community and give them opportunities they may not readily have available if it weren't for the work we do here. We tell the kids that walk through our doors that where they grow up doesn’t determine their future, they do – and that’s what we’re here to achieve. Manchester Youth Zone is in #Harpurhey, the 2nd worst ward in England for the effect of long-term deprivation on children. This means many are vulnerable to poor educational attainment, future worklessness and falling in to antisocial or offending behaviour. In the local area: Unemployment is 16.2% (national rate 7.5%) 48% of families live below the poverty line 11% of 16-18-year-olds are not in employment, education or training The good news is we give young people countless opportunities to change that story for themselves. We believe young people can create their own futures by being supported to dream bigger and aim higher. 35.23 miles under the belt in 2 hrs 17 minutes. This is going to be a hard month! This will be the standard every day. Some days I may do more to enable a rest day but with 965 miles to go I can’t rest too much 😂 So with that, if you’re able to and would like to support my efforts please do. It’ll make the pain of walking up the stairs at work worth while! The link to do so is below. Thanks so much to those who have donated early to get this moving. https://lnkd.in/eWxBEjXg I won’t post every ride, as that’s just boring 😂😂 I will do a few though to keep those who are interested, up to date! If you want to keepo track here's a little tracker I've made.... https://lnkd.in/ensRqYyW #Challenge #Fundraising

If you happen to be near York (UK) this Sunday, and see the Yorkshire Marathon in progress, and then see a very tired looking man running past (very slowly) in the T Shirt below: it will be me doing my first (and very probably only!) marathon! I am running to raise funds for SMiRA: an organisation that support Selective Mutism (SM). SM is an anxiety-based disorder, those with SM speak fluently in some situations but remain consistently silent in others. They may have a blank expression, or appear ‘frozen’ when expected to speak and this can severely affect their educational and social development. From personal experience as my daughter sufferers from selective mutism SMiRA have been amazing in supporting with information and guidance (that can also be used by schools, clubs etc.) for this little known condition. The weather forecast is currently not great at all: rain (not surprising for the UK) and wind. So all support is appreciated! I will post a link to the fundraising page in the comments but please do not feel obliged, moral support will be more than enough as I slowly make it round. Links to SMiRA and Yorkshire Marathon also in the comments.

Social Responsibility - Clean Water Several years ago as a youth pastor I challenged teens to think about where we could give strategically and make an impact on our culture. Charity Water is an amazing organization that is bringing clean water to people across the globe. As a business, I want to give strategically in an effort to do good. As a Life Coach I am also unapologetically a follower of Jesus Christ. I see coaching, leading teams through organizational health training, conversations where I lean in curious to help a stranger, and yes giving as an extension of who I am in Christ. I seldom talk about my faith on LinkedIn. Regardless of your belief system, let's settle on one common area. Let's find room to give in ways that matter to our world. Charity Water provides safe drinking water to the most needy people on our planet. Sickness in impoverished countries is often a result of poor drinking water. We take for granted clean water coming to our homes. Please consider today giving to Charity Water. Even a one time gift matters. https://lnkd.in/g47tiRf9

📢 Let me introduce you to Head Held High Ltd (HHH) ❓ What is it? Head Held High is a social enterprise currently in the process of gaining charity status. We lead highly interactive, motivational workshops and programs for young people at risk of exclusion, violence, and affiliation with knife crime. We work in partnership with the anti-knife crime charity, the Ben Kinsella Trust, and have also collaborated with the charity Mind, the Department for Work and Pensions, and Comic Relief. 🤝 Our Mission: ✅ Improve the Mental Well-being of young people at risk ✅Improve Education & Employability Opportunities for young people at risk ✅ Reduce youth exclusions and violence '' We want to empower young people to reveal the courage to change and thrive in their lives '' ❗ Importance of our work ❗ 🗣 This work is crucial for youth at risk, and there is a huge need for it in London. As a young person, I can strongly say that organizations like Head Held High are vital in our communities. However, the lack of funding makes it very hard for them to keep going. That’s why we need the funding!! 🙏 Too often young individuals are dominated by their past actions, environment or emotional state.
