Independent since 1906, we empower people through sport and craftsmanship to create positive change around the world.

About us

In 1906, New Balance began as a humble one-man operation founded on the belief that “we were born to move,” and has since grown into an international corporation, selling footwear and apparel in over 120 countries and employing over 8,000 associates worldwide. Our mission has always been to support the performance of athletes, and with an unparalleled focus on quality and craftsmanship, we’ve come to set the standard for comfort and fit in an industry all too often driven by hype. We’re incredibly proud of our history and how far we’ve come, but companies don’t thrive for over a century by being content. Whether it’s setting a new style trend, retooling our manufacturing process, or building a new state-of-the-art headquarters, we pursue innovation with a spirit of fearless independence. As the only privately held major footwear company in the world, we’re free to do things our way, pushing limits and testing boundaries as we continually reimagine what could be. After all, the status quo isn’t static. But doing things our way wouldn’t mean much if we weren’t also doing them the right way. We invest in our associates as they invest in us, and as we move forward, we make a point of giving back, supporting communities around us through ambitious philanthropic efforts and involvement programs. We are a company that cares, and our culture is one of integrity and teamwork where together we become greater than the sum of our parts.

Updates

  • Last month, New Balance associates from around the world gathered for our 2025 Global Town Hall. It’s a special event every year, a chance to celebrate our wins, hear from our leaders and look to the year ahead – but maybe most importantly, it’s a unique opportunity for our global community to come together as One NB. Thanks to all who attended and made it possible!

  • Our values are the foundation of everything that we do at New Balance. 📌 Integrity—because how we do business is more important than the results we achieve. 📌 Teamwork—because together we are greater than the sum of our parts. 📌 Total Customer Satisfaction—because ensuring we are at our best is important for all. • New Balance is driven by our commitment to make a positive impact in the global communities we serve. Throughout the year, we encourage associates to take advantage of New Balance’s personal volunteer time benefit and give back to nonprofit organizations that align with their values.    While Joshua Little, Lean Technician, has always made an effort to volunteer, he’s found it increasingly difficult to find time in recent years. New Balance’s ongoing support for volunteerism has given Joshua the opportunity to give back to charities and causes that are meaningful to him. “Being part of a workplace where volunteerism is not only encouraged, but actively promoted and supported, is something that I am unbelievably grateful for,” said Joshua.    In the past year, Joshua has volunteered with several local organizations and even dressed up as New Balance’s mascot, Newbie, at a camp for children with life-threatening illnesses. “New Balance wants associates to use these benefits,” said Joshua. “Giving back is at the very core of New Balance’s values.”    Joshua credits seeing various projects sponsored by New Balance’s volunteer efforts as one of the main reasons why he wanted to work with our brand. “Growing up, I played on playgrounds built by NB volunteers. So, when it came time to settle down and pick a place to start my career, there was nowhere I wanted to be more.”    Interested in joining the New Balance family? Introducing the reissue of the New Balance 740, featuring WNBA star Cameron Brink. 👟🏀   This archival classic has been reimagined as a versatile and dynamic model to provide effortless style and comfort, from 7:40 AM to 7:40 PM. The 740 was originally designed as a pinnacle performance running shoe, but today slides right into the 2000’s ‘retro-tech’ trend. Already featured in collaborations with hip hop star Aminé and iconic Boston-based streetwear retailer Concepts, the 740 is on its way to becoming an everyday staple.   Coming off her rookie season with the Los Angeles Sparks, the number two overall pick in in the 2024 WNBA draft uniquely transcends sport with her joyful spirit and prolific style. Since joining the New Balance family in late 2023, Cameron has been the epitome of an exceptional brand ambassador both on and off the court serving as the face of our long term partnership with the WNBA. In addition to participating in a number of charitable endeavors, Cam has featured in global brand campaigns, multi-continental running spots, iconic magazine covers and is now the face of the 740 lifestyle franchise.   Blending luxury fashion and streetwear style, Cam sits at the center of sport and culture with a bright future ahead. 🌟 • WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association)Creative Artists Agency#branding#marketingFREE AGENCY

  • Guided by our purpose and values, New Balance associates are constantly mobilizing to give back in unique ways and make an impact in their communities. Associates in Pune, India recently worked with Mamata Bal Sadan, a nurturing place for 75 young girls that provides care, support and a brighter future for those who need it most. In December, 25 dedicated IT associates volunteered to help make Mamata Bal Sadan more sustainable by installing solar panels to serve the home with uninterrupted and cost-effective solar power. The solar panels are expected to reduce the building’s electricity bill by up to 70%, freeing up funding to go toward other critical activities for the girls. Thank you to all our associates who participated in this event!

  • At New Balance, we take a lot of pride in developing talent from within and believe career development is more than climbing a ladder. There are multi-directional and non-linear paths for associates to grow. When associates feel empowered to own their career path, performance and satisfaction thrive. We celebrate associates who have championed and supported internal growth by changing teams, departments and locations at New Balance.   Heather Brown, a Production Manager in Maine, celebrated this month her 23-year anniversary with New Balance. Her journey with the brand began in 2002, when she performed all assembly operations and learned new skills that would later shape her approach as a successful leader.   Her advice to associates looking to make their own internal career moves is simple. “Own your destiny. Seek feedback, take action and bid on opportunities that look appealing to you.” Congratulations and happy anniversary, Heather! We’re so happy you’re part of the New Balance family.   Interested in growing your career at New Balance? Explore our careers site and apply for an open role today! https://lnkd.in/g7vZqaW

  • We are thrilled to see the New Balance Foundation SquashBusters Center officially open in Lawrence! SquashBusters Lawrence is a youth recreation program that uses the sport of squash combined with academic enrichment, mentoring and community service to provide young people with support and access to opportunities. As a longtime supporter of SquashBusters and Lawrence Community Works — along with dozens of other impactful non-profit organizations across the city — the Foundation is thrilled to see this project come to life and make a meaningful difference to the community, especially to the young people of Lawrence.
