4 Weeks into my time at Equip and here's a snapshot of what I've learned so far (pumpkins for bullets because Fall is nearly upon us) ... 🎃 I am surrounded by so many people who REALLY care about the work they are doing. It's evident that industry-changing (and more importantly, life-changing) work is happening here. 🎃 Startups (like people) come in all shapes and sizes... Equip is 5-ish years old so you'd probably guess we have about 150 employees (or less). ❌ Wrong --- We're at 500+ and growing strong. Another testament to the industry-leading work and sustainable methods that have set the foundation. 🎃 Eating disorders are no respecter of persons. You may have a template in your mind of the type of person who might struggle with an ED --- you may not be totally wrong, but you're probably not totally right. Eating disorders affect so many more humans than you'd imagine... all races/ages/colors/religions/gender identities. As a people, our relationship to food and to our body can be a complex one, and many individuals (more than you realize) benefit greatly from the advocates, partners, clinicians, mentors, and providers we have here at Equip. I am so excited to join in this work as I support the people who support the people. What a privilege.

Mr. Rajan Singh, When we keep on waiting for things to happen, this is neither natural nor necessary, but more out of trepidation, fear, apprehension, or simply the fear of the unknown. It requires the proverbial "leap of faith" or "taking the plunge" to test the waters, something akin to an inevitable "baptism by fire".   More often than not, psychological barriers are at play. It is often the first step which is the most difficult. Instead of looking outwards, strive to look inwards for motivating you to take that crucial first step.   Some examples of taking a "leap of faith" or "finding your true calling in life":   ✅ Making the transition from a salaried individual to an entrepreneur   ✅ Saying "no" to professional relationships which no longer add value and moving on   ✅ Giving wings to your hobbies and interests to see if they can generate a steady flow of income   ✅ Beginning to network with professionals who share your principles or work ethics, and who can contribute to your professional growth   Do not trust your fears, as they are unaware about your strengths and true potential. Instead, listen to your gut feeling and intuition.   The only aspect which can stifle our personal and professional growth are our own self-limiting beliefs. As long as we have a sense of conviction in pursuing our ambitions, an unwavering sense of commitment, self-confidence in our abilities, we can take the plunge in a calculated manner, and move up the ladder of life. An easy and simple approach to ensure that you do not give up on your goals is to break your overall goal into several smaller sub-goals. By adopting this approach, you are indirectly motivating yourself to remain consistent, disciplined and staying the course.   For instance, if you want to go from 0 to 50, break down the target into smaller and achievable targets as follows:   💎 0 to 10 💎 10 to 20 💎 20 to 30 💎 30 to 50 (by this time, you have overcome the initial self-doubt and resistance, and can go for the final frontier, by pushing yourself just a bit harder, hence the extra 10 yards)

𝗜 𝘄𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻... It turns out I may have a fractured sesamoid bone. These are tiny little bones located between your big toe and the ball of your foot. Two tiny bones that we don't often hear about, yet they bear much of your body's weight. These are the same bones you use when you tiptoe and that keep you balanced when you walk. They are probably the most underappreciated yet critical part of your body. I likely fractured one by repeatedly putting pressure on the same spot, not letting other bones do what they are supposed to do! As I sit on bed rest for the weekend and beyond, I celebrated returning to LinkedIn after a two-week break. I reconnected with supportive old friends Ollie Wood, Celine (Minh) Nguyen Will Fan🕊Kathy Wen Nathan Beemer Elena Chow Moritz Kaffsack Kong Lee Rashmi Sharma Li Zhang Maria Majella Rio Hester Spiegel-vdSteenhoven and made connections with new ones Chris Laxton CA(SA) Charlotte Stewart, FCIPD Yina Han Jael Chng. I have also asked for help from Lizzie Davidson and Sim Yan Ting to see things from different perspectives. The two weeks of in-person discussions (before my bone gave out) were both eye-opening and soul-enriching. I was able to keep pondering the questions I've been asking myself:  “𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢 𝙙𝙤 𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙮?” I realized that organizations are like our bodies, and great talents are like those tiny sesamoid bones, keeping us functioning and moving forward without pain. I want to ensure that whatever we do at co:grow collective, we remember the power of tiny bones and continue to support startups and scale-ups in their growth journey. I want us to catch those blind spots before tiny collective fractures paralyze the culture and team performance I had big plans this weekend to update the website, but I didn't manage to due to the painkillers and bed rest. I will continue to listen to my body. More to come! One step at a time.

Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy is an excellent book especially the distraction-filled world we live in today. It provides practical, actionable strategies on how to increase productivity and accomplish tasks quickly. I loved the inclusion of chapters discussing how technology can both aid and hinder us. The book also offers valuable advice on overcoming the dopamine addiction fueled by social media apps. Overall, it's a fantastic read! #productivity #procrastination
