What an experience, what an adventure! I absolutely love my job at DNV and all the opportunities it brings. Just heading back home after two (extremely) intense weeks at DNV’s head office in Høvik. I attended a course on fleet in service surveys, touching everything a general FiS surveyor should know. Ten days of mind-blowing lectures from the top experts in the company. Beyond the theory, we dove into a ton of practical group work using DNV’s unique survey simulator—a super cool software where you can conduct a real survey! But the real magic? The people. THE DNV PEOPLE, from all corners of the globe. I believe we’re no longer just colleagues; now we’re friends for life. 😊 We had a blast together, not just at the office but also after hours, including an epic weekend trip to Norefjell Ski and Spa Resort. I truly believe that after that, all new joiners feel that when they join this network of experts, they’re at the heart of it. ❤️ Now it’s time to head home and put this new knowledge into action. 😁 #lifeatdnv #dnv #development #learning #experience #personaldevelopment #career #careeratdnv

Does a test drive of an expensive Car make sure that it's perfect and will never break down or meet any accident? While everything in this Life (Personal or Professional) is temporary then it's hard to understand why everyone is running after Permanent things..Every Job/Assignment is a Project..Take the Project..Complete it and take another..When Life is NOT permanent then how your Job/Project can be?

Contract Corporate Jet Pilot, Commercial Pilot; CFI; Ferry Pilot; Owner/Manager of flyGIRL, LLC and Fly Foundation, Inc; social media content creator; public speaker
As many of you have followed my flight training journey and surge into a career as a pilot, the life and perspective you've seen is filled with beautiful and fun destinations, breathtaking views from state-of-the-art cockpits, and sneak peeks into restaurants and hotels I've visited, during my travels, around the country. If you follow other pilots on social media, the life of a pilot may seem picture perfect all the time. I mentor individuals and help guide as many people as I can who come to me with questions about becoming a pilot. What isn't often expressed are the challenges of this lifestyle. Every job has pros and cons. The life of a pilot is no different. Painting an honest picture of this career is an important responsibility I take seriously. Embarking on the journey to become a pilot is a time-consuming, exciting (and expensive) investment in your future. This article is meant to be a realistic look at the lifestyle so anyone may assess whether they can see themselves enjoying this career. 💼 Why is learning from failure more powerful than getting everything “right” the first time? Here’s a personal lesson from my journey to become a private pilot. At age 50, I embarked on a dream I’d held since my early twenties: learning to fly. Taking off and soaring through the skies? Surprisingly manageable. But landings? That was a different story. And as anyone who’s flown can attest, successful flights depend on matching your landings to your takeoffs! ✈️ Starting my training in July 2015, I quickly learned that most student pilots make their first solo flight after about 25 takeoffs and landings. For me? That milestone took over 250 practice landings, finally happening on October 12, 2016 or on this very day 8 years ago. It wasn’t immediate, but my instructor Hans Kühnle taught me that patience and resilience are keys to success. He encouraged me to keep practicing, to be as patient with myself as he was with me, and most importantly, not to give up. The truth is, I gained so much more than just the ability to land an aircraft. I learned the value of persistence, the importance of embracing failure, and the power of lifelong learning. Thanks to Hans Kühnle and Hermann Arend, I achieved my dream of flying. So if you’re struggling, remember: the journey is as important as the destination. Every failure is just another step towards eventual success. Keep going – you’ll get there. #lifelonglearning #resilience #persistence #aviation #dreamscometrue #embracefailure #weekendreflection

When I first mentioned the job offer from #DNV, my father's reaction was one of surprise. "DNV? Really? 😯 What would you even do there? Certify ships? You're not a surveyor..." Despite his astonishment, he encouraged me to seize the opportunity. And I did. Without knowing anyone at DNV or what the working environment would be like, I trusted my instincts and took the plunge. It turned out to be the perfect next step. 👍 I joined a team of incredible #GSS professionals who supported our European colleagues in HR, IT, and Finance. As part of a dynamic talent acquisition team for nearly four years, I had the privilege of playing a role in welcoming numerous new faces to DNV. It was a period marked by joy, a touch of stress, and immense personal and professional growth. 🌬 The journey didn't stop there. The learning curve continued to rise, and when the bold opportunity to join the #EnergySystems' Project Engineering and Development Team came my way, I hesitated momentarily. Me, alongside a team of seasoned engineers advising on #windenergy subjects? The diploma hung on my wall, but experience was yet to catch up. Did I truly belong? Yet, I’ve learned that engineering isn’t just about equations and technical prowess; it’s about people. When you’re surrounded by support, guidance, and respect, you soar. There are no falls—only helping hands to lift you higher. 🤝 And so, I embraced the challenge. Today, as I reflect on my six-year 🎇 journey, I’m amazed at how time has flown. Working within the same company for this long feels like an achievement in itself. But there’s more to explore, more to learn, and more to contribute. Here’s to the brave decisions 🥂 —may they be exciting and rewarding! 💥 #LifeAtDNV #WeCare #WeDare #WeShare
