Methodical construction is one of the core qualities of teaching. Hence, next summer, my 2nd judo book is coming out specifically aimed at teaching throwing techniques. Till today, I have not discovered any national or international publications describing methodical structure. With this book, I want to contribute to judo teacher training in order to strengthen and optimise the quality of teaching.

This study presents a suitable and comprehensive model, revised and supported by experts in Judo, for the development of judokas across the lifespan. Our findings revealed that the model contents—physical, motor, educational, and health—are entwined with its four domains, which the experts in Judo considered of utmost importance. Also, this study improves our understanding of career development and sport participation in Judo. We anticipate its use for integrating Motor Development knowledge with Judo educational, philosophical, and competition values in children, youth, adults, and seniors. Once validated by experts, we recommend that this approach be tested. As such, future studies on the judokas’ unfolding careers should investigate how the physical, motor, health, and educational factors are best entwined across distinct age categories and goals of Judo. https://lnkd.in/drAxNWe9 #JudoForAll

Judo -Basics and Tactics- (Perfect Lesson Book) by Kenichiro Agemizu https://lnkd.in/gmfqyhSW Innovative "Six Compartment Theory" proposed by the director of Tokai University Judo Club, which has produced many medalists This book reviews the techniques of Japanese-style judo and calls it the "six-compartment theory" based on kumite and height differences. It is organized around the theme of how to compete with the world's best. In each compartment, the basics of Kumite and the techniques to be utilized change. We believe that it is necessary to establish and organize one's techniques in the 6 sections in order to respond in various situations according to one's opponent. * The method used in a session given by the author at the French Judo Federation's April 2024 instructors' course at Tokai University in Japan. #publishing #book #japan #foreignrights #japanesebooks #sport #judo #JapaneseAuthors #KenichiroAgemizu #jitsugyononihonsha #federationfrançaisedejudo #TokaiUniversity

I would like to share with my network I concluded the Course "Teach Nage-No-Kata: Group 1-3" held by European Judo Union. This course contributed to increasing my repertoire and understanding of theory and practice of basic Judo skills (not only) for Kata. It is essential to keep in mind that the purpose of Kata is improving one's Judo in theory and practice. Some basic skills are indispensable for good Judo independent of Kata or Randori. For this reason, some videos are used to develop analyzes with explanations of these basics and ideas for practice. Students must realize that there is always a logic, a “why”, behind everything practiced in Nage-No-Kata. Teachers (like me) need to be creative and flexible in their teaching styles to develop ideas on how to transfer understanding of scripted situations (Kata) to unscripted situations (application in Randori and Shiai). One of the most important educational goals for beginners is learning how to cooperate with a partner in Judo practice. This is a general habit that has to be developed throughout a student’s Judo education! Kata training is considered to be a perfect tool to achieve this.

Perspectives Judo is a highly complex sport in which the organization of specific training is a challenging task. Gaining an under- standing of the physiological responses to training and competitive situations is critical for designing appropriate training methods. Although the physiological responses to judo competition and to the most used judo-specific training modalities are fairly well known, improvements in training methods will depend on further well-controlled prospective research studies. Because the Olympic sport of judo has been through constant changes over the past decades (mostly because of improvements in athletes’ technical, tactical, and physical levels and because of changes in official competition rules), future research investigations must provide an under- standing of how these changes impact combat dynamics and, as a consequence, how they impact the physiological and metabolic demands of judo combat. Judo coaches must be aware of these changes as their impact on combat dynamics may require adjustments in training methods. #judo #bjj #martialarts #sportscience #strengthandconditioning

When Does Rule-Breaking Hurt Performance? Evidence from Judo, Soccer, and Organizational Settings? Wei Jee Ong and Scott J. Reynolds found from professional judo and soccer competitions (Studies 1 and 2) that higher ranked competitors experience a more negative relationship between rule violations and performance. In three subsequent experiments, they found this effect due to higher ranked competitors underestimating the downside risks of breaking rules (Studies 4a and 4b), as opposed to being differentially detected or punished (Studies 3a through c). A final experiment (Study 5) used objective performance measures to confirm both the underlying dysfunctional choices made by higher ranked competitors and the associated performance effects. These findings indicate that the consequences of unethical behavior in competitive contexts are more complex and heterogeneous than previously thought.” Interesting :) #unethics #competition #performance #psychology Published Online:15 Apr 2024 https://lnkd.in/d4ScnsX7
