Did you know that women with children, particularly single mothers with young children, often struggle to secure rental properties for their family. This is another way that the current housing crisis disproportionately affects women. Have you ever been discriminated against when seeking housing? share your experience (anonymously) in our 2024 Housing Survey at www.wrcbermuda.com.

Housing Access Team Lead @ WoodGreen | Community Engagement & Harm Reduction | Passionate about Interior & Exterior Decorating
Reposting this from Métis National Council and below sharing some important thoughts of mine: Every Day is Red Dress Day: Let us stand in Solidarity with MMIWG 🔴 May 5th was the National Day of Awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, also known as the Red Dress Day. My hearts aches at the thought of the countless Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals who have been taken from their families, their communities, and their futures. It is very important not to confine our solemn reflection to just one day. The red dress symbolizes far more than a single date on the calendar, it's a somber reminder of the ongoing struggle faced by Indigenous communities. As an ally, it's crucial to recognize that our support for MMIWG can't be confined to a single day of acknowledgment. It's about standing with Indigenous communities every day, amplifying their voices and demanding justice and accountability for the lives that have been lost. Let's commit to making every day Red Dress Day by honoring their memory, advocating for change, and uplifting Indigenous voices. Behind every statistic is a story of a daughter, a sister, a mother, a friend, someone that has been cherished and loved. We owe it to them and to their families to ensure that their stories are not forgotten, that their lives mattered, and that their spirits are honored in the ongoing fight for justice. Beyond remembrance, true ally ship requires us to actively engage with and respect Indigenous cultures, traditions, and sovereignty. It's about acknowledging the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities while working to dismantle the systemic barriers that perpetuate violence and injustice. Let's use our platforms, our voices, and our privilege to advocate for change. Let's educate ourselves and others, support Indigenous-led initiatives, and hold our institutions accountable. Together, we can create a world where every Indigenous woman, girl, and Two-Spirit individual can live free from fear and violence. Today marks the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, also known as Red Dress Day. It serves as an important opportunity to recognize and address the violence faced by Indigenous women and girls, including members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Canada. #RedDressDay #MMIWG #MétisNationalCouncil
