Fisheries management can indeed come with its fair share of challenges! Some common ones include overfishing, habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change. These factors can negatively impact fish populations and ecosystems, making it crucial to find sustainable solutions. Additionally, balancing the needs of different stakeholders, such as fishermen, conservationists, and policymakers, can be a complex task. Effective fisheries management requires collaboration, scientific research, and adaptive strategies to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of our marine resources. #fisheries #fisheriesmanagement #fisherysustainibility What are your common challenges in fisheries management? #fisherystudent

World Fisheries Day, observed on November 21 each year, serves as a global platform to raise awareness about the importance of fisheries and the sustainable management of aquatic resources. The day aims to highlight the critical role fisheries play in providing food security, livelihoods, and economic opportunities for millions of people worldwide. The day calls for collaborative efforts among governments, fishing communities, environmental organizations, and the public to address these issues and promote sustainable fisheries management. World Fisheries Day encourages discussions on innovative approaches, technological advancements, and policy measures that can contribute to the conservation of marine biodiversity. As we mark World Fisheries Day, it is crucial to recognize the interconnectedness of oceans and human activities. By fostering a deeper understanding of the value of fisheries and advocating for responsible practices, we can strive towards a future where marine resources are preserved for generations to come, ensuring both ecological integrity and the livelihoods of those who depend on the bounty of the seas. #WorldFisheriesDay #November21 #Harithkram #Beyondthebounderies

CIRDAP organized a webinar to celebrate the World Fisheries Day with a very important and burning issue in the world. The thematic topic was “Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture: Impact of Climate Change and Mitigation Measures”. I volunteered to talk. In my presentation, we discussed about the Climate Change Impacts on Ocean and its impact on fisheries; Ocean Acidification; Green fishing; Coral bleaching; Impacts in Aquatic life; Impact on Fisher man with the issue of migration, loss of income and property, Health problems and debt & management; and etc. The presentation covers the more related issues of climate change and huge impact on fisheries and aquaculture. At the end of the webinar presentation, there was a lively Q&A sessions held amongst the participants. #worldfisheriesday2023 #climatechange #climatechangeimpact #climatechangeadaptation #fisheries #fisherman #aquaculture #aquaticlife #community #Ocean #oceanlife #oceanscience #sealevelrise #cyclone #rainfall #climatesolutions #climateresilience #greenfishing #greentechnology

Whether you fish, live in a coastal town or just like to eat seafood, we all depend on healthy, sustainable fisheries. That’s why it’s so alarming the National Marine Fisheries Service is proposing a rule that would make it extremely difficult for the public to access important fishery data. This proposed rule would... ❌ Make it difficult for the public to know *what* fish were caught, *where* they were caught and what was caught *with* them. ❌ Limit the public’s understanding of how fishing affects ocean resources and marine ecosystems. ❌ Make it harder to minimize fishing impacts and manage fisheries sustainably. ❌ Hinder efforts to understand interactions of fisheries with protected species. Add your name before April 25 and tell NOAA Fisheries that the public deserves to know what’s happening in our ocean so we can minimize the impact. . . #Fish #Fishery #Fisheries #NOAA #Sustainable #Ocean
