🌟 Saving Giving Spark #9 🌟 Today’s spark comes from Tamara Kahn, CEO of Oracle Head & Neck Cancer UK: "Facts + Stories + Real Belief = True Donor Partnership." I was so thrilled when my cousin Tamara wrote me from her home in London that she was leaving her important corporate job to run a nonprofit! Most of you know that family members often wonder why anyone would choose to work in this very challenging sector (but we know that finding a job with purpose is highly motivating). With two incidences of head and neck cancer in our family, Tamara moving to a more purposeful vocation to run a charity dealing with those particular cancers made me a bit teary-eyed. I was also impressed with her moxy deciding to jump in with both feet to not only work in the nonprofit sector, but to take a leadership role. In the last several years, Tamara and I found (not surprisingly) that we both have a very similar outlook on how fundraising works (again, no surprise!) and I’m so thrilled that she has contributed today’s spark. My thoughts? Tamara’s spark is a compelling reminder that fundraising is about creating shared visions and connecting data with heart. It’s an invitation to collaborate, not just ask. If you're feeling guilty/bad about not being able to give the gift of funds on #GivingTuesday, you're not alone. Many people are being more cost conscious for a host of reasons, and it's helpful to remember that giving can come in other forms -- such as the gift of time. This #GivingTuesday, I have donated coaching sessions to causes that I care deeply about, including: ➡️ Underserved Youth ➡️ Mental Health ➡️ Breast Cancer Nonprofits need our support. How might you give the gift of your time and skill in your local community? #GivingTuesday #giveback

Direct mail in 2024? Yes! Direct mail continues to be effective at Dr. Susan Love Fund for Breast Cancer Research and Tower Cancer Research Foundation due to the tangible, personal touch that stands out in the digital age. Direct mail complements digital campaigns, providing a multi-channel approach that reinforces the message and increases engagement. QR codes and personalized URLs can bridge the gap between offline and online giving. But unlike emails, that can be easily overlooked or marked as spam, direct mail creates a physical presence, making it harder to ignore. It can evoke emotional responses through compelling narrative, design and imagery, fostering a greater sense of connection and urgency. Direct mail campaigns can also be highly targeted, reaching specific demographics with tailored appeals. This tangible and personalized approach helps build trust and engagement, leading to higher donation rates and sustained donor relationships. #directmail #fundraising #donors #donations #towercancer

𝘿𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 2024 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙖 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣! These three special events will help us raise money to fund cutting-edge #medulloblastoma research. Medulloblastoma is the most common brain tumor in children, and approximately 250 children are diagnosed with it each year. The current treatments in place are highly toxic to the developing bodies of children—and yet, there are few market incentives for companies to put in the R&D to bring better therapies to market. Funding for this critical research is left up to the nonprofit community, which includes many individuals who have lost a child they love to this malignant disease. That is why our mission is urgent. So when you register for the Triggerman Trifecta, you are helping more children hope for a better, brighter, and cancer-free future. More details about this inaugural event can be found here: https://lnkd.in/gfe25W_J

Imagine selling a home and making a difference in a child's life at the same time. At Pileggi Real Estate Team, we believe in giving back. That's why we are proud supporters of the SickKids Foundation. We're on a mission to raise $50,000 for SickKids Hospital, and we need your help. By working with us, you not only get expert services in buying and selling homes, but you also play a part in helping kids fight and recover from serious diseases like cancer and lymphoma. Each home sale means a portion of our income is donated to SickKids, in honor of our buyers, sellers, friends, or family members who referred them. Here's how you can help: 1️⃣ Choose Pileggi Real Estate Team for your real estate needs. 2️⃣ Refer friends and family to us, knowing a portion of the proceeds will support SickKids. 3️⃣ Share our mission with your network to spread the word. Your referrals really do help the kids. Let's build a new SickKids Hospital together, one home at a time. Have you ever partnered with an organization that gives back to the community? Share your experiences below. #RealEstate #GiveBack #SickKids #CommunityFirst

True success is measured by how well we uplift those around us. Recently, I had the privilege of participating in a local charity walk supporting esophageal cancer. This experience reaffirmed my belief that true success is not just about personal achievements, but also about how we contribute to our communities and support meaningful causes. Community involvement and personal commitment to causes that matter are integral parts of my professional and personal life. By giving back and supporting those in need, we can create a positive impact and inspire others to do the same. If you have any questions about my experience or how to get involved, comment below. #CommunitySupport #CharityWalk #KuttinCommunitySupport #SupportingCauses #PersonalCommitment

💭 To the coaching curious, In recent weeks I've helped people: - Process new diagnoses and traumatic events - Liberate themselves from their imposter syndrome - Find creative solutions to thorny work and personnel issues - Give voice to parts of themselves believed to be lost or silenced ❣️ The people I serve are leaders and creatives in museums, non-profits, institutions of higher learning, and other education and art spaces. Plus some. 🫶 I'm carrying a full roster, but I have a couple spaces this month for you or someone in your network to try coaching with me. As an additional bonus: 100% of this month's coaching proceeds will be donated to two organizations serving people living with cancer in honor of October Breast Cancer awareness. Help yourself and someone else at the same time. 💸 Think you can't afford coaching? Think again. My fees are on a sliding scale to make this an accessible gift for yourself or someone you care about. 💌 What important work will we do together? Message me to learn more. #coachingcurious #coaching #lifecoaching #careercoaching #personaltransformation #ravingclients #pinktober

On today's episode of the Professor Kev Show I am joined by Nishka Lal founder of Learning Unlocked. She is the co-founder of a non-profit that aims to empower the youth on the knowledge of computer science, and using those funds, donate back to our community of cancer patients globally. We have raised over 5K, aiming to allocate these funds to child cancer patients and hospitals across the globe. I tried really hard not to cry :) #professorkev, #studententrepreneurs, #cancer, #raisingfundstofightcancer
