Lean Attitudes (Motivation) - Adopt a Lean Mindset for Fitness Goals: • Who: Those struggling to maintain motivation. • When: During goal-setting and workout planning. • Why: To foster a continuous improvement mindset in fitness routines. • How: Set incremental goals that are challenging yet achievable, such as increasing workout intensity gradually or mastering a new exercise each week. Celebrate small victories, like completing a week of consistent workouts or achieving a personal best, to keep motivation high by recognising progress. Keep track of these accomplishments visually, perhaps with a journal or app, to see how far you’ve come, which reinforces a positive mindset and encourages continued improvement. Regularly reassess and adjust your goals to stay aligned with your fitness journey, ensuring that your motivation remains strong over time. Mastering discipline is crucial in the world of fitness, where consistency often trumps fleeting motivation. While motivation may ignite the spark that gets you started, it's discipline that keeps the fire burning long-term. Imagine discipline as the steady hand guiding you through the ups and downs of your fitness journey. It's like having a reliable compass that keeps you on course, regardless of external factors or fluctuations in motivation. While motivation may ebb and flow like the tide, discipline remains constant, anchoring you to your goals and commitments. Picture it as building a strong foundation; just as a sturdy structure requires solid groundwork, achieving fitness goals demands consistent discipline in your habits, routines, and choices. So, when faced with moments of wavering motivation, rely on discipline to carry you forward. Embrace the mindset of showing up, putting in the work, and staying committed to your goals, even when the going gets tough. By cultivating discipline as a fundamental trait in your fitness journey, you empower yourself to make progress and achieve lasting results. Day 8 of our Fitness Challenge is all about mastering your schedule to make room for fitness. With a hectic workload, it’s essential to plan your workouts as diligently as you plan your work tasks. Here are some tips to help integrate exercise into your busy calendar: Prioritize Your Workouts: Treat your workout times as unmissable appointments. Block these times in your calendar as you would any important meeting. Be Realistic: Choose times that you can consistently commit to, whether it's early morning, during lunch, or after work. Prepare in Advance: Lay out your workout clothes the night before or pack your gym bag to minimize excuses. Opt for Shorter, More Frequent Sessions: If finding a solid hour is tough, aim for shorter 15-20 minute sessions that can be more easily woven into your day. Use Technology: Set reminders on your phone or use fitness apps to keep you accountable and track your progress. How do you schedule your workouts around your busy day? #AccountantFitnessChallenge

As we dive into 2024, let's reshape our approach to fitness. Did you know that while 12.5% of new gym memberships kick off in January, a whopping 80% bail within five months? Here’s how to break the cycle: ➡️ The gym isn't a must. Discover an activity you love and can stick with—diversity is key. ➡️ You don't need ‘big gains’ daily. Small, consistent efforts matter so much more. Things like walking for 20 minutes per day count for a lot with the mind and body. ➡️ Drop the 'no pain, no gain' myth. Movement is valuable in any form. Let progress, not pain, drive your fitness journey. ➡️ There's no 'perfect' start date - just start. Your fitness journey starts wherever you are, even on January 1. Be patient and realistic for lasting results. Kick 2024 off with simple, achievable goals. Paint yourself a realistic picture and give yourself the opportunity to have longevity with it. Ultimately, that’s the most important thing. What are your fitness goals for the coming year?
