HYPERPLASTIC TISSUE RESPONSE FOLLOWING CONNECTIVE TISSUE GRAFTING While connective tissue graft shrinkage is a well-documented post-transplantation reaction, there is a literature gap concerning hyperplastic tissue response. This phenomenon is unaesthetic, may cause food retention and impaired lip  dynamic, and often causes anxiety, as patients perceive it as a malignant tumor.  It does not regress spontaneously. Previously published attempts to remove this unaesthetic tissue failed, sometimes triggering even more growth. We, Howie Gluckman and myself, just published in JERD a promising and viable treatment modality to effectively manage uncontrolled gingival overgrowth after connective tissue grafting. #JERD #AdriaDentalGroup #PolicliniciRident #HowardGluckman

Raster-scan optoacoustic mesoscopy (RSOM) is a non-invasive optoacoustic imaging method. You can use it to understand your drug’s effect on dermatological conditions’ structural, functional, and molecular features. RSOM images microvasculature through the entire skin depth with resolutions of tens of micrometers. For example, Regensburger et al. showed at a mesoscopic level the microvascular structure and oxygenation in murine paws. In the current experimental murine models, there are several technical challenges that compromise their performance. These include PD catheter migration and kinking, which often result in earlier catheter removal. As a result, these limitations drive the need for more animals to complete a study. However, we have addressed these drawbacks and introduced technical improvements and surgical nuances to prevent commonly observed PD catheter complications in a murine model. Furthermore, this modified model is validated by inducing peritoneal inflammation and fibrosis using lipopolysaccharide injections. Essentially, this paper describes an improved method to create an experimental model of PD.
