Habitual Converter Of Camera Shy Humans Into Camera Confident, Bold, Shameless, Self-Believers! 💥Harnesser Of The Power Of The 📸 Click, With a Touch Of Magic and Lots Of Flair💥
Where have all these kids come from? Today's look back on 21 years in business! I am a bit fuzzy on the details of how it happened, but for some reason I started getting lots of enquiries and bookings, for children portraits… It was not my first choice, as far as clientele goes, but not because I do not like children. I do like them. It is just that I had no experience in working with that age group, and it had not been the direction I wanted to take. But, hey. Nothing ventured, and all that! I started to take the bookings and soon found out that: 🌟I am a natural at working with children and have the patience of a saint (parents' words…). 🌟For some reason children loved working with me, and had no issues taking direction on posing. 🌟I was able to indulge my inner child, which is very much alive and well, and this worked in my favour as far as relating to the little angels, and putting them at ease. 🌟No one looked at me as if I was weird when I rolled on the floor, put stuffed animals on my head, or when I blew a raspberry (to some parents' horror). I captured some of my favourite work over the 16 years I photographed children and families, and became quite fond of the genre, though newborn photography was never something I was that comfortable with, as the responsibility of handling the little bundles of joy made me quite anxious, so I avoided it. In fact, newborn photography was the first style of portraiture I dropped from my services, in the subsequent years. Within a year of setting up the business my portfolio was growing, and I was offering: Women Portraits Children Portraits Family Portraits Pregnancy Portraits Below is a selection of some of my favourite images over 16 years, and I could post, literally, hundreds more! #anniversary #businessanniversary #celebrations #21years #lookingback #solopreneur #smallbusiness #photographer #photography #portraitphotography #children #families #andreadegabrielphotographer #mystory

Strengthening Family Bonds Across Distances Through Photography ✈️📷 In a world where family members often find themselves spread across different cities or even countries, fostering a connection between children and their extended family, including grandparents, is more important than ever. Photography emerges as a potent tool in bridging these gaps. Our research highlights a striking consensus among parents: 94% agree that sharing their children's photographs within the family circle enhances feelings of connectedness. Moreover, 89% report that these moments of shared experience significantly contribute to their child's sense of belonging. 💕 👨👩👦👦 Professor Geoff Beattie sheds light on this phenomenon, stating, "Photo albums and online photo journals spark family conversations, bringing everyone closer. It's not just about the images; it's the discussions they inspire, uniting the family on a deeper level. Photography serves as a social glue, enhancing familial bonds." In light of this, for those whose loved ones are miles apart, sharing photos can be a simple yet profound way to deepen your child's ties to their broader family network. So why not start a family photo journal today and see the difference it can make? #BackThen #FamilyPhotography #PhotoTherapy #Family #Childhood

A lot of people say they want to do family photographs with the baby, but let me give you another scenario. So for me, baby's first year is photographed across three sessions. Roughly when they're four months, when they're eight months, and when they're 12 months. The four month session is perfect for capturing baby on their own. It's not that they want to exclude the other children, it's just because they're so tiny and it's nice to capture that. The perfect time to do the older siblings and family, is when baby is sitting that little bit bigger. They're a little bit more used to being handled, they're more expressive. And that's why I love babies' first year, because you've got that opportunity to do different combinations of posing with different family members at different times. When they hit the one year mark, they're generally walking or they're at least moving, crawling really fast. And you get a different vibe at that session. And it's lovely to capture all these different stages. You also start to capture how the other children will interact with them, because to them, their little brother or sister is a lot more interesting at this point because they're starting to move and they can play with them. Baby's first year photography is about capturing your children's childhood through the eyes of the youngest. Award Winning Documentary Photographer / Visual Storyteller / Capturing real moments for real people
"Why would I want photos of us getting our baby ready for bed?" 👇 (Share this with someone who needs to read it!) This. This image is why. Because these sweet little moments are fleeting. And while there are many more sweet little moments to come, they change with every age and stage. It won't be long before bed time looks different. It won't be long before your tiny human has moved on to new firsts and new favourites. It won't be long until they have outgrown that sweet little sleeper. It won't be long before little moments like this feel fuzzy, or get lost in the busy of what's next. Your family photos should help you remember the little things that would otherwise be lost to time. They should help tell your family's stories. Booking Summer and Fall 2024 - if you would like family photos that tell your story, I'd love to talk. . . #ptbo #kawarthalakes #documentaryphotography #documentaryfamilyphotography #peterboroughphotographer #familyphotoshoot #familyphotos #torontomoms #torontophotographer #torontofamilyphotographer #torontokids #familygathering #familyreunion #peterboroughontario #familyparty #gentleparenting #familyparty #reportagephotography #momentsmatter #jordanlyallphotography #documentingchildhood #familyphotojournalism #littlethings #smallbizptbo #lovelocalptbo #teamptbo
