Building Future Talent: Specializing in Early Career Recruitment, Community Engagement, and Higher Education Leadership
From a Talent Acquisition standpoint, educator externships are invaluable for shaping the future workforce. Here’s why they matter: 1. **Real-World Alignment**: Externships provide educators with firsthand exposure to industry trends and technologies. This ensures that the skills and knowledge taught in classrooms align with what employers need, creating a talent pool ready to hit the ground running. 2. **Enhanced Curriculum**: When educators understand the evolving demands of the job market, they can better tailor their curriculum to equip students with relevant, in-demand skills. This leads to a more competent and competitive future workforce. 3. **Building Partnerships**: Externships foster strong relationships between educational institutions and companies. These connections can lead to internships, co-op programs, and job placements, creating a pipeline of well-prepared candidates. 4. **Empowered Educators**: Educators return from externships with renewed enthusiasm and innovative ideas, which translates to more dynamic and engaging teaching methods that benefit students. 5. **Inspiring Students**: Educators who participate in externships model the importance of lifelong learning and adaptability, inspiring students to pursue continuous improvement and stay abreast of industry changes. Educating the next generation is a collective effort. By supporting and participating in educator externships, we ensure that our teaching professionals are equipped to prepare students for success in the ever-changing job market. #TalentAcquisition #Education #Externships #WorkforceDevelopment #FutureLeaders #LifelongLearning #IndustryPartnerships #Educators #Inspiration #OneWestTeam

Great leadership and achievement by one of our QUT students, Flynn. Read on to find out what leadership opportunities are there for you as a student, and how QUT Pharmacy will support the journey of personal and leadership growth during undergrad studies Flynn Swift #qutpharmacy #quthealth
QUT pharmacy student Flynn Swift has been elected as president of the IPSF - International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) – a global body representing 500,000 pharmacy students and early career pharmacists in more than 100 countries. Flynn was elected IPSF president late last year and is currently in Europe where he represented the federation at the 154th executive board meeting of the World Health Organisation in January, where he spoke on maternal health and child mortality rates, and the need for equal access to essential medicines in all countries. Prior to leading the IPSF, Flynn was president of the National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association for a year, and its executive director for two years. Flynn will graduate from his Bachelor of Pharmacy next year and is interested in building a career as an advocate for pharmacists and pharmacy, rather than in a traditional pharmaceutical practice. For Flynn “This extra leadership experience means I will leave QUT with a degree and a prosperous career path.” and he hopes his work with the IPSF will "..encourage more students to take on pharmacy – whether they are high school graduates or people looking for a career change.” Read more about Flynn's achievement here: https://bit.ly/496rv27 #QUT #QUTHealth #QUTPharmacy #IPSF

The Best Medicine is a Stronger PBS For over 75 years Australians have been receiving medicines through the PBS. The PBS is a vital part of Australia's healthcare system, but it needs to be updated to keep pace with the latest medical science. AstraZeneca believes that all Australians deserve timely access to medicines that can improve their lives. As a leading biopharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca is committed to working with the government and other stakeholders to ensure that the PBS can continue to provide Australians with access to the medicines they need. "AstraZeneca is committed to working with the Australian government to ensure Australians have reimbursed access to the medicines they need," said Ben McDonald, AstraZeneca Australia and New Zealand Country President. "We believe that the #StrongerPBS campaign is important to demonstrate how important reimbursed access is and how the PBS should now evolve to support access to new medicines." We encourage you to learn more about the #StrongerPBS campaign and join us in advocating for a stronger and more sustainable PBS for all Australians.
