💡 Shortlist Candidates Like a Pro 💡 It requires just ONE question to screen out everyone but your top-tier candidates. 👇 “How do you apply Marmite to your toast?” ❎ I squeeze yoghurt pouches directly into my mouth for breakfast, whilst scrolling TikTok. ❎ Eugh, Marmite - it’s gross. ❎ I use the same knife as I’ve used to spread my butter, I am a sloppy operator with no care for crumbs and cross-contamination. Okay, we’ve now made it to the top 10%. ❎ It doesn’t really matter if the toast is hot or cold. Incorrect. Then apply the Marmite evenly across the WHOLE surface, with the aid of my second knife. The jar is then examined for crumbs, before the lid is securely fastened. Your headline is your first impression. Yet most people write their headlines like A (not descriptive enough) or C (too aggressive). If you want more recruiters to actually call you in for interviews, your headline should look like B (descriptive and friendly). Can I interest you in the "ultimate cup experience"? Also known as a coffee cup. What's interesting to me is that the coffee cup company has realised that people value the *experience* of using a product more than the product itself. Recruiters can get this the wrong way round, turning candidate CVs into 'products' and forgetting about the client's *experience* of hiring. 🥗 I love an interesting salad! 🥗 I am definitely of the age where I need to be very conscious of what goes into my body, so for the last 7 or 8 months, I have aimed to eat around 4-5 salads per week for my main meal of the day. [Mind you, I do have a penchant for chocolate covered peanuts, so I aim to keep these to a minimum, I try to convince my self that 'hey, these are mainly peanut', but I realise that this is self delusion]. My current streak is salad for the last 9-days running. I can't believe how quickly I get through the ingredients in the fridge though, I need my salads to be interesting as well as nutritious, with a variety of ingredients, I can't do just generic lettuce, celery and cucumber. I like to include pulses, grains, grapes, walnuts, purple radish, marinated tofu, cheese, olives, fresh beetroot and other legumes, preserved lemons, capers, seeds, blue-berries, nori seaweed sprinkles and anything else I can source, with a good quality dressing [not all in the same salad of course]. Not only does it do what I need it to do, it looks beautiful and tastes amazing [especially when slathered in humous]. Are you sensing the presence of a CV analogy?
