In my internal evaluation role, I’ve been noticing the perks of having a bird’s eye view of the organization. Internal evaluators get to stay updated on so much of what’s happening in the workplace. (In other positions, I’ve sometimes felt out of touch beyond my role’s narrow scope.) And by staying updated and working with various initiatives, internal evaluators are well-positioned to make connections and support aligned efforts toward organizational goals.
There's lots to say about internal vs. external evaluation, but it’s great to experience first-hand how an internal role can connect the dots and help make good things happen.
I help busy executives, individuals and organizations by providing the tools to effectively navigate their business and personal lives. Advocate for : DEI, Mental Health & Wellness, Community Engagement.
This post underlines the importance of being true to ourselves. We often go along with things, including jobs/project offers, knowing that it's not the right fit for us.
That nagging feeling deep down in your gut should not be ignored. Do not dismiss it. Take a step back from the situation and take a critical look. You will find that the answer is within you.

Market values are an important means of describing the value of a certain job across everyone that does it and everyone that wants it.
But the market value for your role is not the same as what you're worth.
Because if you're someone that can generate far more value for a company than the average professional, then you should be rewarded more than the average professional.
Market values are a great place to start assessing your worth, but you shouldn't tie yourself to it.
As a young company doubling our staff every six months, here are 5 soft skills we look for in our candidates:
1. Passion
We look for people who burn for what they do.
Being in love with your job is the only way to make sure you’ll show up with the energy you need to deliver results.
2. Commitment to keep going.
When passion fades, you need commitment - commitment to the company, its mission, and delivering results.
Or what is the same, pull yourself together, and get things done.
3. Personal improvement.
Wanting to be better, always. Never being satisfied and pushing your limits consistently.
Do you have a desire to be constantly improving? That’s good. Show it.
4. Structural and analytical thinking.
We need people who can think logically and solve problems creatively and effectively.
Not only smart and academically trained people but also people who can solve any situation that they may come across.
5. Directness.
Expressing your thoughts and feelings openly can avoid things getting worse.
Even negative thoughts. Even when it’s to say you’re not comfortable.
Did some of the above resonate?
Are you interested in joining our team?
Let's talk about how you can be a part of it.
The industry can benefit from cross-industry competencies and associated productivity impact when talent search has a deliberate appreciation of competencies that should be mandatory to have from the word go and those that can be acquired within reasonable durations of experience......
And don't underestimate the enjoyable experience that employees get in acquiring new skills, exposure and discovering new abilities.....
Picture, in your mind’s eye, the path in front of you. It’s a long one, lined with job opportunities and career development.
You may not be able to make out every detail of the journey you’re on, but you get the general gist. It winds up through hills and forests lined with symbols of your career growth and development.
Along the way, there are opportunities to learn. Maybe that looks like climbing trees or swimming across a sea.
What is the point of this exercise? Psychologists say there’s great mental power in visualization. It can help us relax, focus and atune our minds to what lies ahead — if you have the right compass.
That compass might, at times, take the form of a recruiter like those of us at Gables Search Group. We can help you read your map, survey the options and decide on the next course of action.

Physically Tired or Your Job is Boring and Unfulfilling? 🫤
Every job in a company is important. One way or another, it will contribute to the company’s goals, and according to the book "The Three Signs of a Miserable Job" by Patrick Lencioni, many of us are disengaged because we don’t understand how our job makes a difference. So what can you do?
🌈 Find Purpose in Your Contributions
Try to connect with the broader purpose and impact of your work by understanding how your contributions contribute to the overall success of your team or organization. Knowing that your efforts make a difference can instill a sense of pride and fulfillment in your job.
So, to anyone who finds themselves uttering those words, “I’m so tired,” know that you’re not alone. And perhaps, like me, you’ll discover that true exhaustion isn’t always physical, finding your purpose is the right key to feel energetic.
