A doula is a non-medical support person that provides emotional and physical support to mothers before, during, and after pregnancy and childbirth. Doulas play a critical role in improving birth outcomes for both women and babies. At BenefitBump we have doulas on staff, doula education courses, and we help participants get connected to and fund doulas. Let’s talk balls! 🔴🔴🔴🔴Do you have an exercise ball? No Precious, why would I need that? Using an exercise ball during pregnancy can help improve posture, strengthen core muscles, and provide a comfortable way to stay active. It may also aid in relieving back pain and promoting flexibility, making it a beneficial tool for expectant mothers. During labor and delivery, an exercise ball can assist in easing discomfort, promoting optimal fetal positioning, and encouraging pelvic mobility. Sitting or gently bouncing on the ball may help relieve pressure and facilitate the progression of labor. Additionally, using the ball for certain positions can enhance comfort and provide support during the birthing process. Want to learn more about childbirth? Join us in February for our Childbirth Education series for BIPOC and Advocating families. Are you expecting #PreciousCargo? Need labor support? I can be your DOULA! Discover the essence of "D" in pregnancy: Doula. A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother before, during, and shortly after childbirth. Their presence can significantly improve the birthing experience, offering comfort techniques, advocacy, and guidance. With a doula by your side, you can expect shorter labors, fewer complications, and a more positive birth journey overall. #PregnancyAlphabets #DoulaSupport #BirthWithConfidence #PositiveBirthExperience #MaternalHealth #ChildbirthSupport

HB 345 in Delaware is an important step in supporting Black mothers and families in our state. This bill mandates that Medicaid cover extra postpartum Doula visits for new mothers, providing much-needed support during a vulnerable and challenging time. For Black moms, this policy is important as we face higher rates of maternal mortality and complications during pregnancy and childbirth. By ensuring that Medicaid covers these essential services, HB 345 is helping to decrease barriers to access and improve the wellness of Black mothers and families in Delaware. BMIP is dedicated to ensuring that Black families have access to the resources and services they need to thrive, and HB 345 is a significant step in that direction. #HB345Delaware #SupportBlackMothers #PostpartumDoulas #MaternalHealthEquity #DecreaseBarriers #AccessToCare #HealthyFamilies

I’d like to share my short blog on the introduction of baby loss certificates in the UK- a step to recognise family bereavement #maternityservices #babylosscertificates
Bereaved parents who have lost a baby before 24 weeks of pregnancy in England can apply for a ‘baby loss certificate’. Millions of families will now receive recognition not only that their baby existed, but also of their bereavement. The introduction of baby loss certificates reflects the Governments’ acknowledgement of the need for improvement in maternity services in the NHS. See more: https://bit.ly/48JOzTC #maternityservices

𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 The Royal Decree of 09/06 extends the granting of compassionate leave within the Federal administration. It grants leave of 2 working days: · in the event of pregnancy loss; · up to and including 180 days of pregnancy; · without the need for a medical certificate; · to any female agent who has suffered this loss and to any agent whose wife has suffered this loss. The 180-day period is explained by the fact that measures already exist from this pregnancy period onwards. This Royal Decree makes up for the lack of provisions for the previous period. It is also important to specify that, according to the Report to the King, the spouse is the person with whom the agent lives as a couple in the same home. Cohabitants, whether legal or de facto, therefore also fall within the scope of this provision. This Royal Decree has been published in the Official Belgian Gazette on 28/06. It comes into effect on 01/07. #pregnancyloss #compassionateleave #federaladministration #claeysengels
